I can report from about 15 miles west, and slightly north of University Heights that it is mid to high 30s, with freezing rain.  I, for one, am glad this game is on TV.  It's not raining in my living room.

Apparently you're not much of a JCU fan  ;)

I'm not an old man by any stretch, but as I get older, the more I find a warm place with plenty of cold adult beverages beats a cold place without them.

I am told the 3 second no spiking the ball rule was changed in 2012. Is there any video of the game/situation that inspired this rule change? Inquiring minds want to know! Certainly the situation must have been totally unjust to inspire such a move. If I could see it for myself then maybe I can let it go. Anybody know how many games this rule has been invoked in? Can you imagine this rule affecting the outcome of a National Championship Game!!!!! The NCAA rules committee would be tar and feathered. I think it needs to be reconsidered and retracted.

Not sure that any one game inspired the change. However, we have all seen games where the home clock operators either start the clock late on a snap, or if the opposing team has the ball they stop it late. I watched a Michigan game a few years ago where UM was trailing and on the snap the QB dropped back, scrambled, threw a pass downfield 20-25 yards (incomplete) and only 3 seconds ticked off the clock leaving 15 or seconds. The play easily took 10 seconds but only 3 or 4 ticked off. I think it was the Alabama/LSU game a couple years ago (maybe the 10-6 one) where the clock ticked 2 seconds off after the play ended. All the rule really does is take the home clock operator out of the equation.

On the Mount field - I am sure LK will have the field in the best shape he can. Last years NCC game I had a couple of Baseball players that said LK knocked on their doors at like 6AM and put them on snow duty to clear the field. I am sure he will have them out doing something today.

JCU returns the opening kick for a TD. 7-0.

14-0 12:06 left. Int return by Hollins. Bad day for Centre, JCU up two scores without taking an offensive snap.

Dr. Acula

Tim Kennedy gets the start at WR. 4 catches for 77 yds early.  Shhhh. Don't tell anyone.

Mount up 14-0 in the first. Adrian has (-3) yards and no first downs. Its early but as stated Kennedy is the main target so far.

Culbertson.  They kicked away from Greenwood. JCU now up 21-0. Centre's QB Haden knocked out with a concussion. This should be a beating

Sounds to me like it already is a beating. Mount is driving again using Nemeth running the ball and Kennedy and Hargrove WR. Have not even heard Mitchell, Namdar or Scott's names even called. 21-3 Raiders. Burke was 9 of 12 for 135 and a TD going into the wind in the 1st.

Have to be out of the house for about an hour. Anyone with eyes on the games, feel free to update. LiveStats very slow on my phone

Well the bell hath tolled for Adrian. Mount has gone up-tempo and the D is winded. The offense is pretty sluggish (some really BIG o-line guys) and slow. Tenney (Adrian QB) just threw a pick and now Mount has the ball inside the 15 up 28-3. Adrian has given Mount a short field on last 2 possessions - not the way to beat Mount Union.

The announcers are saying that Adrian D is stepping on Mount ball carriers as they unpile and have been doing it all game. I think this is Ric that I am listening to - he is very un-biased - so I am inclined to believe the call. But apparently Adrian is not winning the "sportsmanship" award.....or the game.

Centre gets on the board, but no momentum as JCU answers very quickly. 35-7 Streaks.
