I noticed the omission of Johnson as well, but I didn't read much into it.  He's on the roster and you can see him in that video  (#27 catching a pass like 5 sec in).  I liked what he showed last year so hopefully he gets some more carries this year.

On the WR I'd say Hargrove is that 4th guy based on last year.  They did additionally mention soph. Octavion Wilson in Kickoff though.  I wouldn't be surprised to see them kind of shuttle guys in at WR for the spots other than Namdar's.

Dr. Acula.

Agree on Hargrove as a number 4. I think the Raiders will run the 2 back offense a lot with Mitchell and Nemeth this fall.

I can only hope someone on the coaching staff finally wakes up and uses Logan Nemeth as more than a second thought in their game plans this year. I have been following him for the past three years and he remains in my opinion the best back we have had. I have no idea why he has not been used more. All he does is gain nice chunks of yardage when he is in the game. In last years Stagg Bowl do you think he could have helped the Raiders with ball control? He had 90 yards as I recall and the UWW held a 40 min to 20min differential in time of possession over the Raiders. That stat blew me away.... they can't score if they don't have the ball.....Of course four INT's didn't help matters any.  STOP WAISTING LOGAN NEMETH! >:(

Couldn't agree more! :)

Mitchell's carries went from 207 in 2013 to 148 last year.  So he had 10 carries per game.  It's hardly like he's Dan Pugh and they're just handing off to him 30 times a game.  Nemeth had 120 carries so 2 less per game.  Would I like to see more early game carries for Nemeth?  Sure.  He brings a different running style.  But Mitchell averaged 7.7 ypc. That's not chopped liver.  I'm fine with rotating guys and keeping them fresh then when things are tight it's just up to Dartt to go with who he feels is most effective.  I think that's exactly what he did against UWW.  Nemeth was running well so he got touches.  Mitchell, Nemeth and Johnson are all good options.  There are far worse problems than us debating how to divvy up carries between multiple talented backs!

Who's in jersey #1 in that video R68? Looked like it was focusing on him.

BoBO,

Beat me to it, BJ Mitchell. Hope you are well!

Very good, thank you for asking, sir!!

Spent some time handing out cookies to the class of 2019 yesterday morning, then headed for the scrimmage around 11.  Mount's defense looked pretty solid.  W&J had some success moving the ball with short and mid-range passing, but they were unable to score. The players were not holding back, there were some big hits out there!

The offense, as would be expected was a little ragged.  Scott is definitely #1 QB at this point, backed up by Peyakov.  Since the QB's were off limits to the defense, we didn't get to see much of Scott's running ability.  I thought he threw the ball well, short and deep, but the timing was a little off on some throws.  Peyakov looked good on the short and intermediate throws, but overthrew a couple of long routs.

The running game looked strong with good performances from Mitchell, Nemeth and Johnson.

Well, that's my take.  Others may see it differently.
12-0 = 13

Dr. Acula

Thanks, rscl70. Not sure about anyone else, but that sounds like pretty much like what I expected.  Solid D and run game, passing a little bumpy early on.  That has to be expected replacing a 3 yr starter.  Hopefully both teams emerged injury free.

Bethany was 6-4 in the PAC in 2014. Does anyone know more about them?  :-\

TGIF - Thank God It's Football!

The 2015 OAC Pick-Em starts tonight.  The contest is open to anyone, whether a regular on the OAC page or not.  We pick all the OAC games, plus a few national games of interest.  OAC league games are worth 2 points; national and non-conference games are worth 1 point.

All games are picked with spreads.  I'll be posting the spreads on Monday nights for that week's games. Obviously a pick must be in before the game kicks off.  Usually this means Saturday noon EST, but occasionally I will include a compelling Friday night game or two.  The week's results will be posted on Sunday morning.

When posting the picks, please be clear who you're picking.  "Bolding" is fine, but more elaborate methods don't print well enough to distinguish.

Let's play!

I think Pat, Keith and the guys do, but you have spend $11 to find out what they know.

I'm really hoping the OAC can sweep nonconference games this year (maybe then people will stop saying the conference is over rated!)
But realistically, I think 7-3 is the best case scenario (most likely 6-4).

SURE WINS:
Mount over Bethany
JCU over St. Vincent
BW over Bluffton
Berg over Cortland

CONFIDENT WINS:
ONU over Utica
Otterbein over Buff. St

TOSS UP:
Marietta and Denison

MOST LIKELY NOT GOING TO HAPPEN:
Capital and Wittenberg
Wilmington and Bluffton
Muski and Waynesburg

Welcome aboard, streak!  +k

I'm a glass half empty guy or something because I'd only have Mount and your Streaks as absolute locks.  BW absolutely should win, but it's BW.  And Berg is replacing a ton on offense and presumably trotting out their normal Swiss cheese D.

I'd go...

Locks:  JCU, Mount
Confident:  ONU, BW, Berg
Toss up:  Ott
Not likely:  Etta, Musky, Wilm
No chance:  Cap
