No offense to ONU, but having seen them both in back to back weeks, JCU appeared to be a much better team.  I can't figure out how ONU beat them.  Cap put up over 500 yds of offense on ONU and the score was 38-31 to start the 4th quarter.  JCU's defense dominated Cap more than Mount Union did.

Also, for the Mount fans asking about BW.  From my observation, BW's offense is better than JCU but their defense was a distant 3rd to Mount and JCU.  Having seen them, JCU and ONU back to back to back, I think they'll give Mount more of a challenge than ONU did, but JCU will give Mount more of a challenge than BW will.  I don't see JCU's offense having much success against Mount, but their defense will make Mount work harder than they have had to work all season.

So to put it in perspective...51-8? ;D Seriously though I appreciate the insight. I have not seen BW or JCU and stats can be so misleading (like Walton not playing against JCU). Some teams are just geared more towards others. I think Cap had a good system to go against Mount and matched up well until the score got out of hand (that attack from Cap is not meant for playing from WAAAY behind)and adjustments were made.

He was injured in the first quarter of the Otterbein game, and hasn't played since. He has missed three straight games ( JCU, ONU, and BW).

Good insight.  Thanks for sharing.  +K

If we're using a glass half full approach I'd say the schedule sets up well leading up to the playoffs.  BW is going to be physical.  That game is always hard hitting regardless of how good BW is.  Moeglin is one of the best QB's in the OAC.  He can run (he was top 5 in the conference in rushing last time I looked).

JCU will bring a strong D the final week of the season.  That's precisely what I want.  Test our offense, expose what they need to work on.  Then they have the first couple rounds to work on it.  And with Howell, Golphin, etc. the Streaks have skill guys that are going to require much better focus than the last few weeks.

Anyone know of a Mount Union (or Larry Kehres) Coaching Tree published on the internet?

I have wondered about that as well. I can't find one but I am sure we could create one with the knowledge about Mount on this site. Alot of it (I think) will be HS coaches.
Here's a few:
Matt Campbell - HC Toldeo
Jason Candle - OC Toledo
Tom manning - OL Toledo
Jason Hall - HC Westlake HS
Bill Rychel - HC Notre Dame College
Mike Elder - HC Avon HS

All I got off hand.

Saw this on Footballscoop.com:

Minnesota: Interim head coach Tracy Claeys notes that defensive backs coach / special teams coordinator Jay Sawvel has taken over most of the defensive coordinator duties.

Jay is a 1993 Mount Union Grad.

I believe that Ed Wernier is the O coordinator for the Buckeyes so we will have a Mount grad VS Mount grad at the Shoe tomorrow. ;D I think Ed graduated about that same time as Jay.

On the coaching tree.....

Eric Raeburn at Wabash Larry's nephew.
Mike Ciriani at W & J.
Mike Hallett at Heidelberg
Dean Paul at ONU
Dom Capers D Coordinator for the Packers
I think Mike Ciriani's brother is a player relations guy with the Chiefs
Ron Lynn was last at Stanford.

I remember a coaching tree that was in one our M Club emails a few years back and it was quite amazing the number of Mount's guys that were still in the game! ;)

I thought Nick Sirriani was moved to a position coach. Just checked he is QB coach with San Diego Chargers.
