The OAC is full of horrible offenses.  The Mount D is very good, as expected.  I'll reserve judgement on great, dominant and other like terms until they play someone.

You're always so reasonable. As I said on one of the east boards, I am impressed these days when any team plays defense. And I mean real D, not "bend but don't break hold them to field goals" defense that is prevalent in many places. Even with the presumed poor competition, allowing 3.4 points a game when one of those was a 17 point output is impressive. I feel for the St. Lawrence/Cortland winner as they will have very little chance (I think Pat is right with this alignment of the bracket) .

This is exactly what causes teams to lose in the playoffs. They try to "respect" their opponent and become something other than what they were all season long defensively. This empowers offenses and allows them to gain momentum without really having to struggle for it. Its like handcuffing your son and sending him out to fight the neighborhood bully. Its the sign of a coach that really doesnt believe in his team IMHO. I would rather lose to a knockout punch than suffer countless bodyshots all day, then lose on a decision.

reality check

Some more on ONU's Magazine:

He broke the ONU single-season scoring record yesterday with 150 points on the season.  The previous mark was a tie at 126 points between Steve Vagedes and Jamal Robertson.  Magazine won't get the kudos that those two got, he did have a historic year for the Polar Bears.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

Congrats also to Devon Price.  He overcame a pretty significant knee injury to lead the team with 78 receptions and 1067 yards receiving.  His 78 catches sets a single season record for ONU surpassing Greg Evilsizor's 67 catches in 2003.  His 1067 yards is second all-time at ONU behind Vagedes' 1220 in 1998.  He also ends up edging Vagedes out as ONU's all-time career receiving yards leader with 3051 yards to Vagedes' 3036.  Congrats Devon!

Magazine had a great year ans should get the appropriate accolades for such.

I can't log in to the show.  Can someone post a play-by-play?

Thanks!

Well no Raider vs Whitewater Stagg Bowl guaranteed. I would assume if that plays out the Hawks would be coming to Alliance. HMMMMM.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Interesting bracket in the traditional west/great lakes region.  Oshkosh, Wheaton and Whitewater all fighting for a semi-final date at Mount.  The winner of that region is sure going to be battle tested.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

If anyone is expecting a close game between the Purple Nurples and the Brown Streaks, like something similar to the last two years, they will be extremely disappointed. This one will be over shortly after halftime, Mount wins by 45 and probably sleep walks to the Stagg Bowl again.

Well, I'm probably way off base here, but it's John Carroll at John Carroll, could be closer than we might think. Also, isn't it possible that we could end up with both UWW and UMHB on our side of the bracket? That would not be a "sleep walk."  (Feel free to tell me why I'm wrong, not that anyone needs permission.)  :)

Close; we get UWW and Oshkosh (rather than UMHB).  At least we will only have to play one of them, assuming we get that far.
12-0 = 13
