Its awfully quiet in the LL room. Was hoping for some 1st round banter.

In the interest of playing Devil's Advocate, St. Lawrence could beat Mount Union.........much like Wilmington could win the OAC next year, or a donkey could win the Kentucky Derby, or I could win the lottery. These are all possibilities that, strictly speaking, have a probability of greater than 0%!  ;D

Until the final whistle there is always a non-zero probability of a result. From the movie, much unlamented by me, Dumb and Dumber:

Lloyd:  What do you think the chances are of a guy like you and a girl like me...ending up together?
Mary:  Not good.
Lloyd:  You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary:  I'd say more like one out of a million.
Lloyd:  So you're telling me there's a chance.  Yeah!

SLU you are officially Lloyd. Enjoy Alliance.

They should enjoy Alliance. Its a nice town. There is a decent Chinese restaurant just off campus, the pre-game brunch is great - Hall of Fame nearby. Lot's to do.  ;D

You mention the highlights of Alliance and don't bring up the 'Hood?

reality check

I found it ironic that he mentioned how nice Alliance is and getting out of Alliance was in his top three; right after Chinese food and other food.

Do you like Chinese food?

Do you like dining hall food?

Do you like the city of Canton, Ohio?

Well, do I have the destination of a lifetime for you!  No, it's not Canton.

Alliance tourism slogan: "We're kind of close to a place you might want to visit!"

Alternative: "Enjoy your weekend in Alliance by getting away from Alliance to see Canton!"
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

Sorry but the majority of my experience in Alliance for the last 11 years is on campus: Chapman Hall, KHIC, Beeghly, HPCC, etc. You are correct I did forget the 'Hood. However, getting beat and then going to the Hood to view the 'Mount Hall-of-Fame' would probably not be fun.

I think Mount fans will strongly support the OAC in the playoffs, anytime.  Especially ONU with Dean Paul who was a fine player and real good guy.  Further, we root for Eric Raeburn and the Little Giants of Wabash.  Raeburn,  cousin to Vince Kehres, grew up with Raider football, played for Uncle Larry and is another branch on the Kehres coaching tree.
That coaching tree just keeps growing and gaining more respect and stature.

False.  Having sat through the wrong end of many games, I can tell you, this absolutely is fun.  Where would you rather be after you get whipped than the divey-est bar in the tri-county area?

Not so fast...Annabelles in Akron is WAAY divey-er. In addition, if you take Union to Main St. and turn right - a lot of divey-er-est bars off the downtown area toward the tracks.

I've been to Annabelles and would respectfully disagree with that assessment.  To your second point, there's a difference between "divey" and "there's a 50/50 chance someone has been murdered here" vibe.

The first time I went to Annabelles was right after I moved to Akron and I lived across the street. A friend of mine said it was a "great place". We walk in and there is this nasty smell. So I look at him and ask "what the $#@! is that smell?" and he replies "chlamydia". Nuff said. The basement was even worse...god only knows what was going on down there. Nasty, stained couches. No thanks. If the Hood beats that then: A) it has really gone downhill and B) I will stay on the campus side of the street.

As in murdered in the last 4-5 hours.

mr_mom

Well, I don't know Annabelle's, but I hope I murdered the spreads.    ::)

OAC Playoff Pick-Em Week One spreads are posted. And as a reminder, you don't have to have played in the regular season ... everyone is welcome and start with zero points.

Let the Games begin!!

Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

I just saw a recent review for Annabelles    "The best dive in Akron. Part time punk bar and full time dive. You can find dogs sitting on barstools, punk bands downstairs with lots of beer on the floor and a smell that only the truly homeless or hip can appreciate."

Dr. Acula

Reviewing Franklin's stats and box scores and saw a little nugget that was interesting.  Burton's numbers are staggering (377 yds/gm).  Their overall stats are heavily weighted in that direction.  But when I looked at the RHIT box score I found it interesting that they attempted 44 passes that day versus 36 carries from just their two RBs (Burton had additional carries on top of that 36).  In their biggest game of the year they were balanced and had a RB go for 195 yds on 23 carries.
