Raider 68

Great Win by the Raiders over a great program of UWW! Safe travels to all the Warhawk fans.

It was an electric atmosphere. I just listened to posters who thought the Raiders would not succeed today, and I must
say I did not think it would be close this year and it was not.  :)

I am still stunned by the dominance...
Scott was amazing with decision making and performed like one of the greats today...
Gotta say, I never thought we could "Pound the RocK"  at the rock pounders like that. Line play was complete and as good as ever today. Congrats to the "big uglies" as Keith Jackson used to call them.
Scott also shut down Hudson on the outside.

Perhaps the best coaching job by Vince and his staff...well done guys
proud to be a Raider...now...hope we didn't leave it all in Alliance for next week
Tonite we celebrate a win over an elite program and a team we respect above most others.

The scores against Platteville and the first meeting with Oshkosh show me promise in picking Mount, they slowed UWWS offense down and held them to low scoring outputs. If we limit UWW on big plays and Scott and Namdar have big days then I gotta go with Mount 42-21..

I guess I was off a bit, sorry 6pts and no tds. My mistake cause ive never seen d3 football.

Btw I think ST Thomas is scary good.

I cant see Mount giving up more than 21 pts, maybe 24 tops.

You don't watch / listen / read about / follow Division III football very much, do you?
Hey buddy, hows it going

Craft_Beermeister

I'm traveling to Belgium to drink some great Belguim beers and when I land tomorrow morning how have a few to salute the great win. Unfortunately in airport and in air I got the dreaded wifi signal strength not strong enough to get the ESPN broadcast. I'll have to watch the tape of it and stage bowl games when I return.

From following the live stats it seemed like a great game by two elite teams with Mount making some good adjustments.

Great season to Whitewater I know we will see you again.

When a team is presented with a challenge such as today they play their best and play like champions which is exactly what Mount did and what WW did not do. Simple really!

Stunned by the defense. Thought the "best ever" talks were crazy. Maybe not so much.

Wesley was still able to hang 35 points on Mount Union last week.   I think it was combo of good defense and UWW stalling.

-Ski

Ski, I think you are giving UWW too much credit.  What did they do after the first 2 drives that shows they stalled?  They did nothing with the ball.  Mount dominated them.  Sometimes we keep thinking teams are just going to keep being good, maybe not so much.  Some UWW fans have been worried about their offense all year.

Well said, wesleydad.

Congratulation Raiders!!!  Great win today.  White Water was a very good team and you sent them packing!!  Long ride home for the cheese eating chickens.  With out a doubt, they will be back.

Ski...you can't be serious, are you? Stalling? Yep, they got stalled alright from a dominating Defensive Beast! End of story!!

Congratulations mount fans,  you have earned it.  Good luck in salem

Thanks, 02!  As my brother can attest to, I bit off three fingernails before MUC finally caught fire.

I hope all your great fans travel back safely.  Joelmama and RaiderInLaw ... sorry I missed you, but "I'll be wearing purple" wasn't enough for me to locate you.   ;)
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Mom, sorry I missed you too.
Looked hard for you. Talked to every guy with  a white beard. Didn't find you but some guy took my Christmas list.

I just watched the Linfield vs St Thomas game and i have to say that Linfield disappointed me big time. They looked very average to me. How did they beat UMHB? St Thomas can really pound the rock behind their huge line { one guy goes 6'9 350 ). :o  Im not sure that they can outscore UMU but their D is pretty stout. Linfield was getting pushed around most of the game on D and their Oline was porous. UMU has more athletes to spread around the opportunities. It will be a balanced offense verses a one dimensional offense and two aggressive attack style defenses going at it. Its going to be interesting.

LETS GO RAIDERS. MAKE IT AN EVEN DOZEN!

hsbsballcoach7

I feel like the defense made this game personal with their play. They didn't get too emotionally hyped, but stayed disciplined and that was key. On offense the line did what we needed them to do, Nemeth continued his hot streak, and Scott did enough running and throwing to keep the UWW defense on their toes.

As for The Tommies, boy are they big and they can pound the ball (I feel like we heard that about a team playing UMU recently). Their QB is pretty athletic as well. I do agree that Linfield was so one dimensional for most of the game, ST just pinned their ears back and put crazy pressure on the quarterback. This should be a tough game for the Purple Raiders.

I was worried how the Mount Union players mindset would be with finally getting the UWW monkey off of their back, but I heard Nemeth say something that gives me confidence that it won't happen. He said,"It was nice to beat UWW finally, but we didn't come here to beat UWW. We came to go 15-0."

See you all in Salem! Go Purple Raiders!
