Has anyone played more home games over the last decade than UMU? Not saying they aren't earned, because they are, but complaining about not having enough home games is a little odd...

Yep.  I bet it seems unfair to a lot of teams that Mount Union won its last 97 home games in a row.

Here's the problem with 6 regular season road games.   There's a 90% chance you drive 3 hours to see a game that was competitive for about 10-15 minutes.

At least the home blowouts against the likes of Marietta or Wilmington didn't involve wasting an entire Saturday.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

You're expecting to draw sympathy because you have to drive three hours to watch your team thrash another team on its home field by sixty?

I don't think I'll be able to sleep until that injustice is rectified.

This is the D-III football equivalent of a first-world problem. You see some of the greatest D-III football players in the game, every week. You see national records fall by the wayside. You see your players win awards and go pro. And oh yeah, you go to the national championship game almost every year.

But man, having to travel to road games against some sap team is just such a pain. Really, the rest of the OAC should work to be better so that Mount's fans are properly entertained on the road.

Now wait a second. Why should everyone else have to change for the sake of one fan base? Doesn't it make so much more sense for Mount Union to get crappier? Then the fan base wouldn't have to see so many poor games, it would be easier to schedule home and homes, and more home games could come in the regular season so they don't have so many in the playoffs. Surely that is a better solution to the problem they seem to have dug up?

Frankly, that doesn't seem fair. After all, it's everyone else being lousy that has created this issue. We can't punish a team for its success. I think the only solution is that the NCAA passes a rule allowing Mount to play all of their games at home, including the Stagg Bowl. That way, their fans never have to travel to witness a blowout, and everyone else gets to experience Alliance every year.

I didn't realize attendance at away games was mandatory.  When did UMU institute that decree?

It's only mandatory for radio announcers.

^ though we could have left at halftime of every game at Wilmington and no one outside of Ric's mom would have noticed.

Wasn't complaining about lack of home games, just observing that the one Non-Conference opponent they have been able to line up the past few years didn't allow for 5-5 home and away games each year.

Geez, sorry for trying to find something to discuss in the offseason.

Now I remember why I don't post as much on here as I used to.

Come on now, don't let a few ruin it for the many.  I enjoy your posts and agree it stinks not to have more home games.  Although I hated, I mean really despised, your last home game.

I don't know--I thought it went pretty well! ;D
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

I thought it was pretty good fun. I mean, we could all just bow and scrape and say how great UMU is, but we do enough of that during the season when they are earning those accolades. We can't have a little fun with the unbelievable difficulties of being indomitable in the offseason without people getting all twisted up? Lighten up...
