90% of the season ticket holders are too old to know what the internet is, let alone use it.  No need to pay for that option for such a small amount of buyers.

Most of them don't even know that Al Gore invented the Internet.

You'd think they might try to appeal to some of the younger alums/fans to replace that 90% as they age out.

Age out?  Is that the modern vernacular for "die"?   ;)
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Yes, it replaced "kick the bucket" some time ago.  ;)

Saw none other than Greg Micheli at the Rocky River Giant Eagle on the 4th wearing a Raiders T. Looks a bit bigger in the mid-section (as most of us do) but I bet he can still sling it. Roll Raiders!

I didn't ask him. However, I live in Westlake and haven't heard of him coaching here. Be nice to see Coach Hall's staff look something like Micheli QB Coach; Kmic RB Coach....just a couple ideas in case Jason follows the board.

Just wondering if anyone would agree or comment on my thoughts that, this year the Raiders will have more holes to fill or a larger reloading/rebuilding effort than we have seen in many years...

Dr. Acula

I definitely agree.  This year is going to be very, very interesting.  Quick thoughts off the top of my head:

The biggest question is QB.  There isn't a guy on campus that's taken a meaningful snap.  Peyakov and Lowry at least have taken varsity snaps, albeit mop up ones.  Poorman is intriguing as an early enrollee.  In reality we know basically nothing about any of them or Klaver or any other QB that may emerge.  The only thing we know is that Mount always has talent at QB so the starter will have won quite a battle to get there.

They will be deep at WR, but will they have a #1?  They return all of their WR's except Namdar.  And Jared Ruth is also back on the spring roster.

How will they replace Nemeth's size/physicality?  Mitchell and Johnson will carry the load, but I think we all liked having that bigger back come playoff time.

The D is going to be essentially a complete overhaul.  I don't recall a season where they lost so many starters recently.  I think the only guys back who have started are Deerr, Stewart and Vidal.  The biggest issue IMO is replacing the D line production.  Lally, Furda, Alarms played so well last year.  The other thing is that the 2015 squad had so much experience.

Dr. Acula,

I have been off the boards for awhile. You raise many good points on the Raiders this fall. This year's team will take longer to find the right combinations of key players  as in prior years and the development of talent. My guess is that by game 3 or 4, Luke Poorman will win the nod at QB. He has the talent, but needs time to learn the offense. At the same time the Raiders will need that Nemeth type running back. While the O line has some key guys back, my greater concern is the D line with all the graduated starters. There are certainly a lot of questions this fall. :-\

I honestly wouldn't be surprised for any one of the QB's to be the starter.  It's by far the most fascinating QB battle in quite some time in Alliance.

Poorman is certainly an exciting prospect and it helps a lot that he was around for spring ball already.  The thing Lowry possesses that I have not seen from the others yet is superior athleticism.  He has big play ability with his legs.  The throwing and decision making will determine if he should be the QB.  Peyakov is the big senior, Poorman is the exciting newbie, Lowry and Klaver played well as freshmen.  It's going to be fun to watch them compete along with other guys I'm forgetting I'm sure.

Dr. Acula

I made an interesting discovery on the spring roster.  A transfer WR from FDU-Florham.  Who cares, right?  The MAC isn't great and FDU-Florham isn't a good MAC team.  Well, it seems Malik Pressley is pretty good.  Good enough to be the MAC ROY as a freshman and 1st team All-MAC and MAC OPOY as a soph.

I'll bet that transfer made Paul Gulling smile. :o

Pat Coleman

It'll be interesting to see what they make of him. He wasn't good enough to be All-East Region for us last year as a sophomore because his numbers were pretty inconsistent. But at Mount Union, he won't be the only option, either.

I wonder why a receiver would want to transfer to Mount when we have such a question mark at QB? May be he is a QB too and wants to compete for the starting job, it seemed to work out last year!
Is there a rule in D3 that requires him to sit out a year?
