Im happy for cecil shorts getting picked up but am wondering why nobody is signing pierre garcon. Is he injured? Contract too big? Too mouthy? Surely hes not over the hill yet. Any inside info?

Over the hill is kind of a stretch but it does seem like he's an average NFL receiver at this point, unfortunately.

I'm a little lost.  Pierre is inked.  He is in the last year of his contract with Washington.  He is still their second most prolific receiver.  He'll make $8.5M this year.  He becomes an UFA next season.

And he hasn't been too mouthy since LK benched him the game after he dove into the end zone!

Most average WR's who are in the last year of their deal and scheduled to make $8.5 million get cut. Pierre can still get it done. WR Corp is crowded in Washington, but if Pierre can stay healthy and Cousins plays well, I think Pierre has a nice year.

The newspaper reported that Garcon was cut . He is listed on the Redskins roster now. Did he resign a lower wage deal or something? Im confused. I thought someone would claim him after getting cut but never heard anymore about the matter.

He was never cut and is still listed as a starting wide receiver for Monday's Pittsburgh game.  Local reporters here (Washington)  speculated he could've been a surprising late cut because of impending free agency and an abundance of receivers, but they cut a tight end instead.  He's usually been Washington's most reliable receiver over the years (I can't believe it's nine already) and a solid citizen.  I'm a Ravens fan, but I reluctantly turn on the Redskins primarily to see Pierre.  He does all the dirty work - blocks downfield, runs all the patterns over the middle and punishes defensive backs after the catch.   I'd love to see him in a Ravens uniform next year.
