Actually B-W vs. Augie is a game I wouldn't mind seeing to kick off the season.  Too bad its being played in Rock Island.  It will be a big advantage for the Vikings to have one game under their belt tho.

I wanted to post this link of this four minute video on the wonderful moment in this young man's life. I know it is a couple weeks old but if you didn't see this video it is very much worth watching.

Thanks, Ric.  I had read about it, but it was so much better to see it happen and to hear him talk about it, the coach, his dad.  Thanks for posting this.

reality check

Don't know if anyone visits d3hoops.com or not but if you click over to the main page for hoops and then scroll to the "Lawrence Ousted" section there is a viedo link to the OT-forcing double-clutch 3-pointer that allowed Amherst to stay alive in the Sweet 16.  I can say it was the most amazing game I have ever broadcast and probably the best game I have ever seen in person.

I would post the link to the video clip but I'm not having luck getting it pasted.

why is it so quiet in here these days... we should be talking about next season, bantering back and fourth about nonsense. come on guys!

paohca

if i were coaching the team that was playing against the autistic kid, every shot would have been contested.no feel good story here!!and you know larry kehres would back me up on this!!

;D ;DHey Paocha-I thought Jamere Holland was going to Mount Union to play for the greatest football team ever.Jamho will do fine at UCS- but he and Pierre "speedo"Garcon and Nate "The skate" Kmic would have been an awesome trio for the mighty Mount.

I just read the 2006 preview (link: http://www.muc.edu/athletics/men_s_teams/football/2006_raider_preview). No mention was made of either Gibbons or Stickley. However, if it is true that would be awesome to have them back. Maybe Mount does not speculate on players graduating with remaining eligibility but instead goes with the known returnees.

I spoke with a MUC DB last week...he came to the High School where I coach to work out during Spring Break.  He told me Gibbons was granted another year of elgibilty, but is not for sure if he wants to come back.  He has 1 more semester until he graduates, but he isn't sold on wanting to come back and play vs. finishing his Professional Semester for graduation...I guess we will wait and see until it is confirmed.  He also did confirm that Stickley will back next season.

Some of you real MUC'ers need to say something or else the collective IQ will continue to look bad based on some recent posts by supposed MUC fans.

Just received word that Mount Union Athletic Hall of Famer and former French Professor Hugh Jae (Class of 54) has passed away. Despite the fact that he keep me from graduating for decades we were very good friends in later years. Hugh held several records for decades and was a "great" back in "the day" (long before my day)

JK

Seventies,

Who hates you?  I see that the Karma is at -31.  That, I believe, is an alltime high.  I do recall not too long ago it was back down to zero.   Like around Christmas time.  How did it go back up so quickly??

You should be proud.  That is pretty impressive.  There are some real idiots on these boards that don't have -31 karma.

tdubs

JK,
I feel seventies pain. For some reason I have bad karma also. I don't even know how to give people bad karma on here.haha...Oh well, I can't wait for next season. I'm craving football already!

There's been talk at other times about other sports having one team with a long run of championship success, and here's an update on D-III Hockey's.  Middlebury College in Vermont just won their 8th championship since 1995, just a little quicker than Mount won theirs (since 1993).  They've had a run of 5 championships, a couple years off, and now a current run of 3 championships  Though not as many teams in hockey as football, it's still a great run!

e_lee

tdubs,

If I ever get enough posts to bea ble to affect someones karma you will get positive karma everytime you aggravate someone from Otterbein or ONU.  That may end up being just about every post and it may only allow you to break even but its a thought.

Does anyone have the spring practice days for MUC   ??

jdean

Anyone have any expertise in anger management counseling? Maybe they could use the board's slow time to deal with e_lee and his apparent issues with the "O" teams. Or maybe deal with the rest of us for not having issues with the "O" teams!!!!
