Looks like it would be a good one - but I am not a subscriber and thus can only read the first 3 sentences. Oh well.

I purchased a 3 month online subscription. It wasn't too expensive.

yea but paying for one article, which is all I wanted to see, make's it a non starter for most on here. especially when I can read most of what's likely in the article for free on D3Football.com;D

Well, you're not an avid Purple Raider Fan, so understand that.  I like to read up on the Raiders during the season and Zupanic writes some good articles.

I am an avid Purple Raiders fan....but not gonna do it. Oh well. I am sure the article basically says:
1. The Raiders are great
2. The Raiders have been great
3. The Raiders have been great for a very long time
4. As a result it is tough when you go through "rebuilding periods" (i.e. being good not great)
5. The Raiders are young now - but will become great as they mature.

I got all that from (www.d3football.com and www.d3boards.com) for free! ;D (see smiley indicates humor - that is for all the East region people!)

Here's some D3football.com Purple Raider coverage:
http://www.d3football.com/columns/around-the-region/greatlakes/index

See! Free!  ;D Although they don't fact check sometimes....I mean the Mount v. BW score was listed as "29-7" in the Great Lakes column following the game. Oh the media these days.

Thanks Pat -

Saw this article and just am not sure what to think. I mean using this logic (sort of) Mount would play JCU, BW and ONU - get 7 forfeits and hit the playoffs?

I couldn't help but laugh at the article, but had to realize this is what is coming to football in the near future. Will we have contact football in the next 10 years at the high school level? It's unfortunate that some of these schools have to suffer due to other schools not having enough players with talent and size. If I was that school, I would ask to join a public league or become independent and play other private schools from the area/region/country.

To be honest - the team didn't just all of a sudden take the field and people noticed "wow - they're huge!". Based on the previous scores, it makes me wonder why they scheduled them??? I don't recall seeing the article indicate it was a conference game - so why put them on the schedule? To the Mom of the kid that said something to the effect of 'I don't want to play them, they are gonna kill me'. Sorry but that is football. I remember being a 5'9 145lb sophomore on special teams in HS and getting PLASTERED by a guy from Tiffin Columbian. Kid had a twin (though not sure they were really twins) on the team and both were listed at 6'5 285. Lesson? I don't know - but I did ask if we could kick to the other side next time.

Dr. Acula

A couple items of note from this week's 2 deep:

Looks like Louis Berry may be banged up.  He is not listed this week.  Crenshaw will start in his place.

Ruth is also missing at WR.  Not sure if he was hurt or what.  Freshman Justin Hill is listed as the starter at that WR spot.

Also noted a few more freshmen cracking the 2 deep.  Brendan Klaus (OG), Richard Morris (CB) Delmar Hall (LB) and Kennedy Sanders (S) are all backups this week.
