Credit where credit is due: The Capital video feed is good. But the pregame show is great. I would love to see Mount do something like this and do it for FREE! Kids on the Capital Sports Network are doing a great job. Kudos.

Agreed!  These kids from Cap are doing an excellent job.  Very impressed.  But Mount can't do this.  It'll hurt attendance...   ::)

Davis starts at QB.  Interesting.

And with Davis the read option is back.  They've run it a couple times already with Davis keeping and gaining decent yardage.

Cap is moving the ball fairly well so far.  They've caught the Raiders with a couple screens for nice yardage.  Wibbeler also hit Barnett down the seam for a long gain.  Good news is Mount has been able to get decent pressure so far.

Cap hits for another fairly long pass, but Mount strips it and recovers.  Davis comes out and tosses a 70 yd TD to Kennedy right away.  14-0.

I'm not gonna lie...Dom Davis looks really good so far.  He just threw a 26 yd TD to Friss.  Perfect touch to the back corner of the end zone.  6-7, 139 yds, 2 TD.

I jinxed him.  Sorry Dom.  He underthrows a fade in the end zone and it gets picked.  He is definitely moving the offense though.

Welcome to the Dom Davis show! 21-0 Raiders in the second quqrter

Now.....about that pass defense. It HAS to get better. I believe the problem to be that we are coaching to a system and not allowing for certain players limitations.

I feel like this years team might be one of those Jim Heacock OSU type of defenses that will give up yards, but not a ton of points. They're bringing pressure when they need to and making plays on defense after giving up 40+ yards on a drive.

Offensively, I really like Davis. I think he is just as talented and he also adds another threat running. It wouldn't change our offensive scheme too much from the last 4 seasons. This coaching staff has a tough problem of 3 talented freshman QBs. They must be managing them well so far, at least watching from the outside perspective.

Wilmington gives up 60 pts in a half to Marietta. No pride.
Marietta now has to play nice so the Wilmintin. Coach doest lose his job

^^^^  What's that say about BW's pride then?  Wilm was beating them at the end of 3 last week!

And right on cue BW loses at home to Musky 14-13.

Heard Poorman and Fulford are banged up.

Like I mentioned last week....win and move on. Right now UMHB and Whitewater are in trouble in the 2nd half of their games. They're streaming online if you want to watch. Go to the D3 scoreboard page and click on V beside the game.

Raider 68

Does anyone know what happen that Luke Poorman is not getting in the game, hurt, out of favor or just coaches looking
at other options? I thought he had a good game last week! ::)

I would expect JCU to be pass happy against the UMU pass D and maybe give the Raiders a run for their money. But then they lose to ONU today. Its a wacky conference this year.  Peyakov releives Davis and promptly scores. Thats one patient player! Buried by three frosh and still hanging in there.

Dr. Acula

JCU lost?  It says they play at 6:00 PM?

Quick take on Mount/Cap. Too many penalties. Wow. I counted 10 for around 150. Sloppy. Defense was good - after the first 2 or 3 Cap series they looked great. Got pressure when it was needed and stops as well. The DBs didn't do bad - I see improvement. Before the haters start hating - Mount scored 45 points with a FR QB in his first start and he was 16 of 22 for 326yds (the first 300 yd game of the year) and 4 TDs. Not bad for start #1.

Forgot to add a shout out for Peyakov. I know he wants more playing time but he came in saw a seem and ran for a score. Nice to see the Senior get his!

On cue, both teams put away their challengers in the 4th quarter.

I hope Poorman will be fine, but I have to say that Davis looked really good with just one bad pass (under thrown int in the end zone).

Like desert raider said, it may not be by leaps and bounds, but I do see defensive improvement. It seems like weekly, the staff is making good adjustments at halftime. That is what gives me confidence about the team by playoff time.

I liked how Hill played at WR on all plays, even that bad holding call inside the 10. There was only one minor thing and that would be attack the ball at its peak when he was in the end zone. He let the CB break it up.

Props to Capital on a great live broadcast! I know why UMU doesn't do it ($$$), but I sure wish we could do a free live stream at some point.

I think we could swing it....auction off the white alternate helmets and the gray unis. That will make up for the lost $$! I don't think a free stream would affect paid attendance. The ones going to the game are parents, students and those within a 30min drive. It would benefit ME (and this really is about ME) and those like ME that are almost 2 hours (or more away).
