As of now. I think davis is head n shoulders above the rest. He may me the guy. That could lead to multiple tranfers out next year at qb. But that's way way down the road.

Almost forgot - major Kudos to Jason Hall, the best LB I ever saw play (in person) and the HC at Westlake HS. After 2 years at Westlake he has the Demons in the playoffs. I told my daughter (who has him for phys ed) when he got hired - "give him 2 years and Westlake will be in the playoffs". Huge turn around.

Also - I saw the QB for Solon is a kid with the familiar last name of "Bubonics". Any relation? Wonder if he will head to Mount?

Ed is a Teacher/Coach at Solon and the Age is right.  I'm fairly confident Joe Boubonics is Ed's Son.  Joe is a 5'9" 170 LB Senior QB.

Ed is defensive coordinator/linebacker coach. I think K&J's Dad is correct Joe and Ed are son:father. Solon Comets play for 21st time in playoffs. Host GlenOak at Stewart Field on Friday night.

Good Joe, Ed and Comets,

Not sure about the transfers. I mean regardless of anything else they are at DIII because they didn't get recruited elsewhere (not a knock - just saying). Sure if they are insistent on being a QB maybe they transfer. But to where? I could see Fulford as a WR with his athleticism. I had mentioned this before but, Peyakov is graduating so it would leave Poorman, Davis, Fulford and the other kid that played QB yesterday (name escapes me). Poorman and Davis at QB moving forward, Fulford to WR. The other one was small, really small (I think the crew calling the game had him at 5'9 160). Who knows. Poorman and Fulford are from Florida (no DIII programs) so I can't see them "moving home to play". Sorry - rambling at this point.

Wouldn't it need to be very, very decisive? The MUC AD invested heavily (flying in an airplane) to scout/recruit Poorman. He may not just say, "Whatever."

Donovan Taitt (GA) was the other QB who played Saturday.  He's closer to 6' 0", 180, very similar to Poorman.  All of the current freshman are 6'0"-6'2", 180-plus.

Davis and Taitt are #1/#2.

Plus I think the tuition he paid for one semester would make a $298 round trip ticket to FL worth it... right?

6'0" I'd believe.  That kid didn't look 180 though!  I woulda guessed more like 160.  He looked thin.  But plenty of time to add weight.  He's a youngin.

I was listening to the OTT student crew. Despite the bad, choppy, call it was filled with errors. Taitt at 5'9 and 160, Matt "Figit", "Brendon" Mitchell, my favorite "Mount Union Coach Vince "Kerns"", and everyone seemed to be from North Carolina (Justin Hill from Circleville, NC; "Brandon" Friss also from NC; and "Tom" Kennedy from NC). Oh well. I did notice in the 2nd QTR I could hear the stadium announcer make the call, and the students would say exactly what he said. That was funny.

Poor Braeden Friss gets called "Brandon" about 95% of the time by opponents' broadcasters.  But when it comes to D3 football I'm just happy there is live video available.  Call them whatever you like as long as the stream works!

Changing the topic...I know the OAC is down again, but the 4 freshmen QB's have combined to complete 69%, throw for 224 yds/gm and 19 TD to only 3 INT.  That's pretty impressive no matter what the state of the OAC is in 2016.

But Mount hasn't played a meaningful road game in 20+ years! (Thought I would post one for BadgerWarhawk) ;)

I don't see any reason they shouldn't be constantly playing at home.  They earn it.  If others want to see them on the road beat them for a change.  In the vast majority of cases Mount would beat the hell out of those teams whether they're playing at home, on the road or on a playground.

I know that I don't have any problem with us playing all of our postseason games at home and we've done pretty well on the road.

Fair enough, but the fans realize that MUC hasn't won a meaningful game on the road for 20 years.
Imagine if Ohio State, Wisconsin, or Michigan got to play EVERY game at home. We'd never lose to lesser schools from the SEC/ACC. We don't win every game, but we still beat top southern schools in the south that NEVER go on the road..
I challenge MUC to return to UWW. You did it in 2002, 2003 before UWW was a "power". I'm sure UWW would gladly schedule a home and home. We could beat the all-time single game attendance record again.
Top flight non-conference games are good for the sport. Playing a schedule full of creampuffs and then being guaranteed home field advantage for 20 straight years is not good for the sport.

I think the original trip to WWW was out of the great respect that LK had for the head coach.  I don't know if they would ever be interested in going there again unless it was a playoff game.  I also believe that Mount is scheduled thru 2019 for out of conference game one. As a fan, I would love to return to WWW, but travel costs will most likely prohibit a regular season matchup.

I also believe that Davis has taken advantage of his opportunity and do not see anyone unseating him.  He is a better deep thrower than the others, is quicker than  Poorman, and has better touch on the ball than Fulford. He also keeps his eyes downfield while scrambling.  I thought that Poorman had that quality as well and eventually think it will come down to those two, but Davis has grabbed the bull and has a very tight hold on it.  I, too, would love to see Fulford at a position where he could get the ball.  He is a great athlete and could be a game changer, IMO.
