It's incredible.  I'm at a point where I just assume Hobart will convert a 3rd and 12 or whatever.

Toph

JCU 37-6, Moeglin gets clocked after the play on a 2 pt attempt and didn't get a call.  If Olivet is going to start putting cheap shots on, it's time to pull the starters.

Also, worth following the game in Belton, TX.  Redlands 21, UMHB 14 at half

Where's the real mount team. Enough being funny. Bring them out. What is this .

joelmama

With the quarter clock at :30 the announcers couldn't figure out why the play clock didn't move?

Dr. Acula

These officials are bad.  Hobart gets flagged for hitting Davis on a zone read fake.

Streaks advance.  37-12 final.

Looks like the Raiders have been taking tacking lessons from the Browns.   :(
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

This defense. My lord.  For those not watching Hobart just faked a punt, they had the punter stopped 3 yds short, but he somehow ran through the tackles and converted.  THE PUNTER.

Playoff mantra: Just win and advance...
that being said, the Mount Defense was in position to make many plays today, but the tackling was horrible.  So many times they were in position to make plays and the ball was advanced yards and yards beyond contact.  The Hobart Number 1 receiver, who is being touted as a potential NFLer, was shut down.  There were at least three sacks, but pass rush is still putrid.  Tackling was just awful. It is hard to expect a homer announcer to be anything but, however, he did make conclusions before plays were over and it was not good.
He was hung up on referees hosing his team.
Johns Hopkins is next, and another road game.
Tackling practice please.

Dr. Acula

The TMC/Witt and SJU/UWP games more than made up for Mount.  Just some awesome playoff football.

And good job Streaks.  Keep it rolling!

I'm pleased but not satisfied with the win. We advance with some solid offense, but we almost got too conservative in the 2nd half. I know we're going to play it conservative with a freshman at qb, but we stopped putting the pedal down! I think our offense is good enough to score at least 4 times a game on a D3 defense. I think our RBs did better of running north/south and kicking it outside after a cut today as well.

Our D is not UMU like at all, but pass defense was our weakness and I think we tried to game plan to stop that and not bring too much pressure to have big plays against us, as frustrating as it is to watch. I wish we would go back to 4 down linemen and put Reid (got more PT today) in there at DT. It would open up Berry on the edge and put Vidal on the outside more often. Wilder was the one to tip that last INT. I'd like to see more of him as well bc he's bigger than Redman who seems to get lost when we play bigger teams. Our defensive line of Alarms, Lally and Furda with Vidal was the difference last season, they were all strong AND quick.

If we are to win anymore games, the fake punt and penalties MUST stop! Everyone knew they were faking that!
Now, let's move on to Johns Hopkins. Similar to Hobart (passing team)?
We'll be on the road again I presume?

I think I 'saw' Hobart HC plead to official for fairness, "On our possessions, please, PLEASE, give us the ball, 3rd and long!"

Watching Browns and Steelers tomorrow, looking back may not be as bad as it seems.
