The MUC shift of focus, upon hearing the National Anthem on an adjacent field is not surprising, except for current realities. A bit spine tingling, part of makes MUC fans proud.

OAC fans, looking into this weeks game and John Carroll's stats for the year.  They look stingy against the run.  Question, are there any teams that run the ball well, or top notch running backs in the OAC this year.  John Carroll only gives up 75 yards a game which is really good.  Looks like teams had more success passing against them.  Thoughts anyone?

UWO ran the ball pretty well on them week 1, FWIW.  Mount did not run the ball well on them week 11.  UWO is obviously a better running team than Mount this year, but it was also 10 weeks difference in time.  I thought JCU's D was solid across the board.  They have a stud player at each level of the D.  Wesley needs to slow down DL Ray Brown.  If he's causing havoc that's not a good sign.  He's a really nice player.

Thanks for the tidbit about the National Anthem.  LK would be most proud. He is a loyal and vocal patriot.
For Wesley fans...I felt that John Carroll's D line dominated the game at Mount.  They were amazingly quick off the ball, and Mount could not block them with  success.  They are the key to the defense.  In my opinion, they are the reason they beat Mount, that and Moeglin, the QB.  He's one of the toughest SOB's you will meet on the field, mentally and physically. He willed JCU over Mount and gained legendary status in doing so.  Mount fans DO NOT look forward to facing this kid a couple more times.  If it comes down to a play that needs to be made, he will get it done.
He lead a HS basketball team to the state championships, and I am told was also a great baseball player.  Don;t know about those sports, but on the gridiron, I want him on my side.

Just saw the release on Coach Snell at BW.  This guy is a class act and a credit to the coaching profession.  BW had been getting stale the past few years and a change was probably necessary.  They will find a good coach, I am sure, but will not find a better person or character than Coach Snell.  From Mount Union, I appreciate the great competitor he has been over the years and wish him the absolute best.

Thanks Raiderpa.  It will be interesting to see if Wesley can run the ball between the tackles and take advantage of an overaggressive D line.  Wesley runs the read option and Falkenburg will keep the ball.  If they give him time the receivers are tough to cover all over the field.  John Carroll better make the tackle on the first hit, miss one and the receiver could be gone.

JCU defense is well coached and they game plan real well. Arth rightly so gets a lot of credit for JCU success and he is a. Arth is a good offense mastermind, but their defensive coordinator Staley is back after a year or two absence and he has that side of ball playing well. Staley replaced Don Shula's grandson who was hired away last year by the Chargers.

I just read a post on Twitter indicating that the Mount Union Football team while fully focused on preparing to play Hobart last Saturday upon hearing the National Anthem being played on an adjacent field hockey field stopped their pre game warmup to face the flag.  Acts like this makes D3Football standout well above the higher level divisions. I salute all the D3 athletes for their hard work, dedications to teamwork, and above handling themselves with class.

I like Moeglin.  I wonder if he considered Mount since he played in high school (St. Thomas) so close to Alliance.

See, it's stuff like this that makes it hard to hate Mount Union. Dang.  Lots of respect to the Raiders for honoring the sacrifice so many have made to preserve our freedom.

A few thoughts on the Raider's game today:

- I listened to the game, could not get the video to play

- Some good news, no turnovers today

- efficient passing 20-29 over 300 yards.

- no injuries

- Some concerns, unable to curtail long drives by Hobart, pass rush spotty as best.

- too much perimeter running, need that bigger back for the middle

Expectations for next week:

- pack your bags again

- another good opposition QB

-  if the Raiders can win next Saturday, they will win the bracket IMHO

- Still a very young team, but growing quickly

- How do they compare with other Mount playoff teams ?- they simply do not at this point

- My expectations are not great these playoffs, but my optimism  for the future is very high

Sounds like there was one HELLUVA color guy on the radio for this game.
