I assume Mount is flying to Texas.  What about John Carroll?  Flights to Whitewater and Oshkosh?

Flight to Oshkosh, but Whitewater was just a little under the 500 mile limit, so the team bussed.

Also look for fares to DFW and the easy 2 hour drive to Belton or to Austin and the 60 minute drive north.

I stand corrected again.
Mine's from memory. You too, probably.
How many catches did the tall guy get?
I was obviously not watching that game.  I was watching The Beast From the East.
Yes, always pessimistic about outliers.  I even believe schools bring in players that do not graduate.

Assuming you are remembering PJ Williams who had a great game against you guys in the Stagg Bowl but only had 2 catches against Mount Union

Never heard so much sour grapes about a guy your team didn't even lose to.

Mount fans . . . what are the best hotels to stay in in Salem in the event any of your fans or our fans want to book early just in case of wins next week? Full service (READ: a bar) would be great but if there is access nearby, that would suffice.

I like the Hampton Inn on Electric Rd. in Salem.  You can see the stadium from there.  However, there is no bar in the hotel.  There are many options in Roanoak - check TripAdvisor.

Very true, he was a big part of that run. Thankfully for us we have a stable of receivers to do the job this year, although another J receiver is breaking most of PJ's records, TJ Josey is our first receiver to ever go over 1,000 yards for a season.

I'm Still trying to wrap my head around the JCU game this past weekend. I NEVER thought after the Oshkosh and BW game, that we'd be playing for a spot in the National Championship this weekend. Even more, I never thought 5 weeks ago, that we'd be where we are! This is an AWESOME team to watch, who I think have gotten better and better each week, and I can't wait to see the rematch this weekend.

As a Chicago JCU Alum, I guess I'm lucky that not only was I able to go to the game at Whitewater, but now I get to go again this weekend at Oshkosh. Is anybody else here in the area, driving up there on Saturday?

JCU has had an excellent season.  Was very impressed with them in the game vs UMU.  Congrats and hope to an All OAC Stagg Bowl.

After watching (mostly online) UMU this year, I am quite surprised they are in the Semifinals again this year.  But agree with others that even though they have been on the road, they've had the easiest run to the Semifinals.  Definitely not your normal Raider team, but they keep surprising me with their will to win.  Hopefully they surprise me again this Saturday.

Hey, I'm hoping for an All-OAC Stagg Bowl too! While many have said that UMU has had the easiest road to the semi's, and that it's not your normal Raider team (I will acknowledge, there have been some GREAT teams) I do believe you guys can get the job done as well.

Looking forward to Saturday!

I have been surprised by Mount as well. I had them penciled on the bracket into the semis - maybe just from habit - but didn't expect them to get out of Baltimore with a win. The D has been absent for most of the playoffs - but they seem to find a way to make that play when they have to. I don't like seeing any Mount team give up as many yards, or points, as they have - but in the playoffs it is simply "win and move on". They have found a way each week to do that and that is all that matters right now. Some things that stick out to me at this point:

1. Dom Davis is really good, and will get better. The INT on the first drive was a freshman mistake that he has made before and the type that gets under your skin never throw back across the middle!!!. But - he forgot about it immediately. Came out next series and drove them down again for the score. Can't ask much more from any QB than the way he rebounded and finished (21 of 29 for 251 and 3 TDs and another 100 and 1 TD on the ground).

2. Tim Kennedy did what TK has always done - stepped up. He is one of my all-time Mount WRs because he just makes plays - especially when they have to be made. Plus the "diving across the middle" catch is just his thing. I think if they put a highlight reel together of his catches it would have an hours worth of just that one.

3. Charlie Dear hits like a truck. He had a few good ones, none like the one on #21 on the dump pass out of the backfield. I hope #21 is okay (hate to see anyone get hurt) but he lost his helmet on that one and went to his knees by the sidelines.

4. D-Line - they did not get pressure consistently, but they did harrass the QB all game. He was just a really good QB that didn't lose his head. He stayed calm, scrambled and threw. Mount didn't get sacks (only 2) but the QB was running on every play and that in most cases is a good thing. If they counted hurries as a stat he was hurried on almost every pass attempt. I think it was the cause for most of the high throws and longs ones too. The D-line did enough to disrupt him.

5. O-line did a great job opening holes. BJ and Morris were able to cut back and run up the middle.

6. Special teams - Mount has a history of making special teams plays in the playoffs. Blocked punt against UWW in Stagg, the blocks against UMHB. Got another couple on Saturday with the TD off the onside kick and the punt inside the 5. With all of the shortcomings Mount has elsewhere Special Teams is an area that needs to make plays. I was very pleased with this against Alfred.

All for know. UMHB should be interesting. Honestly I think the run ends in Belton, TX - but Mount has made it further than I truthfully thought they would. Looking forward to Saturday and the possibility of a re-match with jcu in the Stagg.

Dr. Acula

Now that I've had time to digest, thoughts from Saturday...

Never thought I'd start with this, but congrats to JCU.  Beating Mount and UWW on the road has the potential to be program changing from a confidence aspect.  JCU has had some very good teams, but never ever could they get that 800 lb gorilla off their back and beat Mount.  Now they've done that and more.  Great work.  I'm especially happy for Toph, Onward On and the other JCU posters on here.  Enjoy the ride!

As for Mount, what can we say at this point?  First, as we all know it was unquestionably the easiest path to the semis, road games or not.  That being said they got the job done.  22 consecutive semifinal appearances is absolutely insane.  That streak will never be touched.  Great job keeping it intact.

The D gave up 534 yards passing.  They're allowing just under 400 yds/game passing in the playoffs.  That's not bad, that's terrible.  Charlie Dear had a postgame quote along the lines that they didn't see anything they hadn't prepared for.  If that's the case that kind of confirms what most suspected...it's not X's and O's, it's Jimmys and Joes with the D.  Saintsfan mentioned the WR's running open and DB's looking at each other after the play.  That was my observation as well.  If they had prepared and were still having that many issues it's obviously concerning.  This was their 13th game together.  They haven't had any injuries to speak of so the same 15(?) guys have played the entire way.  There seems to be a lot of breakdowns for a group that's played together all year.  The one thing I will say is that it is difficult when you're facing as elusive QB.  Hard to sack him and hard to maintain coverage when he scrambles.

UMHB is going to be one heck of a challenge to say the least.  It'd be a huge upset to get back to Salem, but we know this coaching staff will have the game plan to do it.  If they can execute and get a couple breaks anything can happen.
