id like to see Tevion Cleveland from Perry hs end up at mount, perfect fit, little smaller in size,  like 5-7 155  but crazy skills at rb, wr, db kick ret, even played qb.. those are the kinds of kids that grow a little in college then people are like how'd this kid not get a d1 scholarship.
He wants to concentrate on academics in college and doesn't want to play sports.  I don't blame him.  He started as a freshman and took a beating for four years.   Great player, but undersized even for DIII.

He'd be undersized for a jockey - I'm sure that height and weight are "rosterized".

He's way too big to be a jockey.  They're usually under 120 pounds.

Maybe we just have bigger jockeys in the Northeast than they do in Alliance?   ::)

I'm in Northern Virginia and I know the owners at Pimlico in Baltimore are not letting a 155 pound jockey ride their thoroughbreds - maybe their Clydesdales.

Can you just say it was a poor attempt at humor next time??

W&L has a frosh RB/KR that played some this year. Listed at 5'5", 163lbs. He looked about that in his pads. Lightning fast and out of one of the real power h.s. programs down here in AL. It'll be interesting to see him develop. I met his parents and brother at a game I went to this year, I don't think he's going to get much bigger.

I forgot that Skyler Scott took a Medical Redshirt this year and should be back next year as well.

Good call.  I forgot about Scott as well.  He showed some flashes as a freshman.  Good size for a receiver too.

Also, I think Ruth has only played 2 years since he missed all of 2015 with injury.  He might have 2 more years left if he gets a medical redshirt (and wanted to stay a 5th year).

Scott was a guy that showed flashes his freshman year. He was bigger as well and I wouldn't be surprised to see the coaches put him at TE.

The biggest recruit we got for next year is another year of Dear! That is awesome to hear! You can tell that he became much more comfortable as the playoffs got going. I feel that this team has a chance to be like the 2015 team where the defense was a question one season, but became a strength the next with a great offseason! My biggest concern is a consistent running game. I'm not sure Evans-Morris is the answer, Nero has done decent with the carries he's gotten, and Choat could be the guy(IMO), but will need to get bigger and an understanding of the offense completely.

I think this should go without saying, but we have the get stronger across the board and work on quickness as well. The playoffs showed me that we just didn't have the quickness advantage that we've been used to recently.

I must say that it also feels weird to not be on the road for Salem tomorrow AM. I'll never take that trip for advantage and hopefully we'll be back next year! GoDers!

Watching the Jack Dear highlight video I liked his speed and ability to dodge the first tackle but I noticed one thing that alarms me too. He's very right arm dominate and runs in traffic without two hands on the ball. He doesn't like to switch arms to protect from oncoming tacklers. That will have to be coached out of him. If you want to see a Qb with great escapability and a strong arm, the kid from Warren Harding was unreal. I can't see him going D3 but maybe someone should pitch him just in case. ;) I definitely would not like to see him play against us for sure. Everybody watch the Stagg Bowl anyways....we have to be the good sports now!

Listen, as a coach, I like that quote as much as anyone, but after the games settles in, talent and execution almost always take over determination. Just look how determined Hobart, Johns Hopkins and Alfred were to beat UMU. It didn't happen because the Raiders maintained their execution and talent took over.

Looking forward to the game tonight. Should be a good one! For the sake of D3 representing well, I hope there's a good crowd and the teams get to show off what they're made of!

There was a decent RB that dominated much of D1 football and only carried the ball in his right hand while leading his team to a national championship....Ezekiel Elliott!

Remember how often BJ was ridiculed for how he carried the ball. He didn't fumble once this year! I'd rather a player carry it in their strong arm and have less chance of turning it over then change arms for the sake of keeping the ball away from a defender. It's like when I grew up playing basketball, they preached shooting with your left hand on the left side of the hoop no matter what! Now players use their strong hand no matter what, but just get more creative protecting their shot.

UMHB has 300 students on fan busses and there are a bunch of folks heading that way
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I'll be watching the Stagg Bowl even though I wish Mount was there.  It's a great matchup of speed vs strength and power.   I expect MHB to win, but the weather (28 degrees at kickoff) favors Oshkosh.  I'm curious to see the crowd size.  The weather will probably keep locals at home.  It's bad timing - we're supposed to be in the 60's on Sunday.  When I worked for the IRS, my boss lived in Roanoke so we talked about the Stagg Bowl.    She said she would go watch one if Mount wasn't playing.  She liked the Mount people, but she was tired of seeing them every year.    That was ten years ago so she must really be tired of Mount (and Whitewater) now.  This is her chance to see a non-Mount game, but I'm sure she's not going to sit in below freezing weather.

That's awesome to hear about the students! I'm pulling for UMHB. I've always followed them from afar and enjoy the way they play. I just hope the coaches don't hold back the offense. Let those Texas boys run! When they do, they're explosive!
