I was at the BC vs. UMU game. Crowd very much favored BC.

Ditto on both. ;)

I have two quick questions and please forgive my ignorance on both:

1) Is the new Tom Benson HOF Stadium a renovation of the old Fawcett Stadium on the same site, or a new one on the same site?

2) The Woodbank Stadium in Texas where the Stagg will be played after leaving Salem-is this a home stadium for one of the colleges/universities or high school/community or what?

Thanks

Don't let the 'haters' get wind of that - we'll get the BS about D3 just being glorified HS ball all over again! :o ::)

(Of course, the way Texas takes to Friday Night Lights, the Big Ten and SEC may just be 'glorified HS ball' also! ;D)

Tom Benson stadium is a new stadium at the same site.  The new North Stands were completed last summer for the HOF weekend.  The South stands were torn down immediatly after the HOF weekend and new stands are now under construction. The stadium still belongs to the Canton City Schools, but the money for it is lagely coming from Tom Benson and the HOF, and it's being built to the Hall's specifications.  (Which means it will be a mini NFL stadium.)   Last fall, Canton McKinley, Malone University, and Walsh University, all of whom played their home games at the former Fawcett Stadium, had to find new venues.

Congrats to BJ Mitchell for being invited to the Detroit Lions mini camp. Obviously a long long long shot to develop into anything, but an achievement nonetheless.

Charlie Dear's neighbor here again. Charlie informed me a few days ago that his brother, Jack, is coming to Mount Union. He will graduate from Massillon Jackson this spring.
He is a running back who comes in with some pretty good numbers. He also did some long snapping at Jackson. Charlie says his brother is a better athlete than he is!
Thought you'd like to know.
How many days before the season starts? Can't wait.

Just saw a pic of the new purple jerseys courtesy of a tweet from the UMU equipment guys.  Looks like the larger block RAIDERS is indeed back.  Traditionalists rejoice.
