D'Angleo Fulford listed as the starter this Saturday vs. NCW:

Poorman is the backup.

Thoughts on the 2 deep:

Obviously the headline is the above news.  I wondered when I saw that Pat predicted in Kickoff that Fulford would have the most passing yards of the Mount QB's.  We saw all 3 of those guys play last year so I don't think anyone is worried regardless of what order they shake out.  What's the saying...if you think you have 2 QB's, you have none?  Well, I think we actually have 3 QB's.

Jawanza E-M starting at RB and Ruth/Friss/Hill at WR all as expected.

Is Crenshaw hurt?  He is not listed at CB.  Other than that the starting D looks as expected with Cox and Sanders moving from back ups last year to starters Saturday.

Fitchet, who started last year at RT, has been displaced by soph Sean Sherman.  Fitchet is listed as the back up.  They have 3 sophs starting on the OL including both tackles.

Adam Pastor is listed as both the back up LG and back up NT.

It's not often that a junior pops up as a starter and you're like who the heck is that kid?  I had never heard of starting TE Joe Koscielski.  Turns out it's because he's a transfer from Adrian.  He's listed at 6-4, 230 so hopefully Miller can mentor him on how to use that size to the fullest.

I always like to check out which freshmen have made an impression already.  These guys are listed as back ups:

Josh Petruccelli (RB and KR).  Technically he'd be a starting KR since they only list 2 guys.
Mitch O'Hara (MLB)
Kordell Ford (WS)
Jalen Griffin (CB)

The Fitchet thing almost looks like a behavior thing. It would've been really difficult for a starter who was mentioned for awards last year(right?) not win the starting job again. I do like that it shows these young guys are hungry!
I'm surprised by...... at one guy listed in 2 deep on O and D, Crenshaw not starting (injury?) and Petrucelli at backup RB, Sophs starting on Oline, TE (man is strong and has hands, wow)
Not surprised by.....Fulford starting (this still is sorted out yet), Griffin at cb and Davis or Choat not in 2 deep

This is kind of an interesting tweet from Jeff Zupanic.  "Any of the 5 could have won the job"??  I assume that means Fulford/Poorman/Davis plus Reid and the transfer.

Count Dracula, the sophomore lineman beat him out. This may sound like a cliche but no one is guaranteed a starting position based on the previous year. Mount players know this. I understand two other starters from last year were nearly beaten out by younger players, and the competition isn't over by a long shot. Lots of good, young linemen on this team.  The freshman RB from Lake County is going to see the field early and often. I know he has very much impressed the boss. I am not surprised to see Fulford starting. The kid is something special and if he stays healthy, he could take us all the way. Think Terrence Scott but a much better passer. He drips poise and confidence.
This might be a great Mount Union team.

If Fulford is "much better" than 3340 yds, 44 TD, 5 INT and 65.5% we're not losing a game for the next 3 years!  Personally, I'd be ecstatic if he was as good a passer as Taurice.  Scott is the new Rocco.  Underrated almost immediately.

Also, I did not offer any commentary on Fichet.  I merely stated that Sherman was starting and he was the backup.  I assume that explanation was meant for another poster.

Excited to see this RB too, especially if they're that high on him.  Always fun to see the next group coming up.

That was me that was speculating the Oline positions. Thanks for sharing that info! I only see this as a great thing for the team when younger guys are pushing hard to make the starting positions difficult to choose for the coaches. I see the talent Fulford possesses, it's just the decision making I worry about. We said the same thing about Taurice too and he turned out one of the best seasons for a QB.

This depends on the school providing the broadcast.

For the Mount games in the past if it was a game being televised on tape delay (like today) then the live video stream was that exact TV broadcast.  So it'd have Shreve and Harry and all the graphics if they're doing it the same as they've done in prior years.

FWIW Fitchet was in at RT the second series.

New TE caught a 28 yd pass, but fumbled it at the 2 yd line into the end zone.  That's not the best way to stay in your new coaches' good graces.

Fulford looks really, really good so far.  We know he has a good arm, but he's shown nice touch today too.  Good decisions, fluid athlete running the ball.

41-0 at half.  Ruth had 2 punt returns for TD's in the half.  Hill has 3 TD catches as he's seemingly getting behind NCW whenever he wants.

Fulford leads a TD drive to start the 3rd.  2nd team D right away with the exception of Sanders (only starter I saw still out there).

Poorman and the 2nd team offense take over for the 2nd possession.  Nice drive.  FG on 1st down from the 2 yd line.  51-0.

Defenses both tough in the first quarter.  Both gave up a big play (or two) in the second.  UWO is doing it on the ground; JCU via the air.
