Trying to watch the Ott and Musky game but the camera people don't want me to. Hey camera peopel: just because 18 of the 21 players are gathered in a small area on the field....follow the ball. Apparently, both teams have had some nice downfield plays but I haven't actually seen them. Another headsup to the camera crew - switching to the field level cam as the play starts, and the camera is not actually looking at anything....doesn't help much. Oh well. Musky has had a couple of drives - just turned it over on 1st and goal from the 3 - but redzone is a problem.

Lowe and Joseph are a really nice combo at WR for Ott.  They're tough to stop.  Joseph already has 171 yds and 3 scores against Musky.

I agree but they seem to disappear against the upper OAC teams. Not their fault entirely. Just hard to gauge where Ott is (aside from Westervillle) against Muskies. They look solid but who knows. According to the play-by-play guy they are sure to be a playoff contender.

Saw UWW down to Concordia 10-0 with 2:ish to go in 1st.  ???

On another non-Mount Union note:

Does anyone know why Ott and Musky are playing this weekend rather than Oct 7 where the game would logically be placed based on the conference schedule?  ???

Otterbein hosts Muskingum for a soccer game on October 7 at Memorial Stadium.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

My hunch is Ott has as good a shot at finishing 3rd as anyone else.  I wouldn't be surprised if they beat ONU and/or Berg.

I'd expect those WRs to struggle against teams like Mount/JCU.  Ott's O line is usually mediocre at best.  Teams like Mount and JCU are going to be in the backfield all afternoon.

Tough loss in OT for Matt Campbell's Cyclones. 44-41 v. Iowa.

Wow.  Concordia-Moorhead stuffs UWW twice in a row from the 1 with under a minute left to win 25-17.  Never thought I'd see the day that the Warhawks from the 1 yard line wasn't a guaranteed TD in that scenario, especially with the game on the line.

Whitewater is still good, but the 10+ years as a full-fledged "Purple Power" seems to be over.

BTW, last week Whitewater THREE times had first-and goal at the IWU 1.  They totaled a FG and two turnovers. :P  And one of those failures to score was in the final minute of the game.  This is NOT the Stagg-Bowl winning UWW of recent vintage.

Dr. Acula

They're definitely still good.  It was just odd that that of all things failed them.  No matter how the first 59 minutes had gone I still just assumed that they'd bulldoze the line and punch it in with ease.

Was a very tough loss for Matt Campbell and Iowa State, but I have never seen a D1 team miss so many tackles.  They played well enough to win, but missed tackles gave Iowa a ton of extra yardage and chances.  WWW 0-2 is shocking and gives further credence of how difficult it is to stay on top and dominant.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Boy could Ohio State use a legit QB.

Heard 92.3 talking about him yesterday. They said "he is going to own every major QB record in the Big 10 and when people talk about him 10 years later it will be 'right Barrett, he was ok'. I am not an OSU fan, I won't even wear scarlet (or red if you prefer) - but I have watched him regress as he gets more experience. That in itself is a bit of head scratcher. He was more effective 3 years ago and has become less so with each year. However - I would take him over Wilton Spaight every single day.

If Urban needs a QB.....Mount has a few good ones.  ;D Maybe Luke Poorman or Dom Davis in return for BJ Mitchell (sorry OSU calls him Dobbins).
