The "m" black helmets were such a missed opportunity. Imagine that matte black with the raiders sword logo in chrome. Would have been so nice

I would like that look, or how about the skull and crossbones on a matte black helmet.  They made it way more difficult than it needed to be

you can't tell me that isn't better than some "M" that Mount hardly uses for anything

one of the games listed on the top 25 scoreboard is not like the other ones.  how crazy would it be if Wilma knocked off JCU?  Long shot for sure, but those Quakers have to be flying sky high

The OAC gets a bad rap because of the perceived weakness of the bottom half of the conference.  Marietta, Wilmington, and Muskingum all won their lone out of conference games and 'Etta and Wilma are both 2-1 at this point.  That bodes well for the 'Berg or JCU possibly sneaking in with two losses and a second place conference finish.

The OAC's bad rap for the bottom of the conference is well justified.   Over the years it's very typical for Wilma, Etta and Musky to be simply horrible.  Or worse.  Add Capital to that list post-Rocky Pentello/Jim Collins.   Otterbein has been average at best.  Berg was horrible forever but rose from the ashes under Mike Hallett and now seems in position to join ONU, BW and JCU who have all shown flashes of greatness but haven't been able to sustain it past a couple seasons or so.   I think JCU was on the verge of doing so but Arth left and took his magic with him.

Now, I fully recognize Mount for the last 25+ years has made a lot of good teams look silly, but when the conference can't challenge Mount on a year to year basis the national perception is right.  The OAC has been a single great team, a couple good ones and a bunch of crap after that.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

JCU has two losses already, so ...

So what needs to happen is Heidelberg and JCU need to beat Mount.  So that Heidelberg wins the conference and JCU sneaks into the playoffs as 2nd place; and Mount has no post season for the first time since forever.  What a dream that would be :D. I'm sure the Hansen odds of that is like 1 in a mil.

So Mount needs to lose two OAC games?  Well, JCU had a great year last year....c'mon Berg, put up a fight against Mount and beat the rest the 'horrible OAC'.  Lets get a playoff game at that weird stadium of yours

At least there is a stadium now, it might be small and only seat 1,000 but its something.  When I was there it was a turf field with some temporary bleachers.  Hallet was some kind of a miracle recruiter to get kids to go to a sad, winless, stadiumless, program

RE: Helmets.  The football coach might -  might  - go for the skull-&-crossbones or sword look.

But I don't think the athletic director would.

I know this is way, way to early, but reading some of these posts begs the question: What is the OAC's tie breaker? If some crazy things played out where Berg loses to Mount, and JCU beats Mount, and the three win all other games, what would happen?

Didn't the 3 way tie happen in 94? I know Mount lost to BW. Thought BW lost to maybe jcu and they lost to Mount. Don't remember. I know Mount was in playoffs - they were defending national champs - and lost to Albion in round 2. Or was it 2005 and the loss to ONU? Regardless - the chance of Mount having 2 conferences losses in the same season is...well I don't want to say it's not possible - hell anything is theoretically possible - but I don't really worry much about this one.

1994's three-way tie isn't really instructive because there was no automatic bid in 1994 to break the tie for.

Lol...

But seriously it just seems so wierd to use the m and not use the sword logo since the sword logo is much more frequently used in other places... oh well, hard to complain it's pretty darn cool that we have alternative helmets at all.

Bad news from a former Raider:

http://www.cleveland19.com/story/36486173/former-university-of-mount-union-football-player-charged-with-3-counts-of-rape

Jordan Hargrove. Does not look good and another black eye for D3.

This is sad to hear. He had promise, but I feel there were cryptic tweets last season that told me that I don't think the coaching staff was pleased with his actions.
