Am I reading the NCAA lifetime stats correctly?  D'Angelo Fulford has NEVER thrown an interception in college?

Yep, not a huge sample size though, he split time with Poorman last year before getting hurt.

True. Sample not that big but still 148 attempts and no picks is not too bad. Of course if he goes out nxt week and tosses 2 or 3 because EDV jinxed him....well I won't be happy.

For those who question Fulford over Poorman, go to the 1:35:05 point. Can't see Fulford due to the camera crew being clueless. However, the announcer acknowledge he was scrambling and threw an absolute gem.

I would be interested to know who was the last QB who didn't throw an interception in his first 148 career passes as a FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORE.

(DesertRaider:  Mount's next four games are against Capital, Wilmington, Otterbein and Muskingum.  What could POSSIBLY go wrong??)

(Besides, if something DOES go wrong, I don't have to worry about you.  The air traffic controller right up the street will kill me long me before you get near.)

63-7 vs 58-7, missed it by that much.  It looks like I gave Berg a little too much credit prior to the game.  These next four weeks are going to be incredibly ugly and boring as the Raiders prepare to hand out some payback to JCU.

spot on with the Seaman/Poorman comparison.  Mount would be going for a 3peat if Fulford had stayed healthy last year, imo

The WRs are really good. I wasn't sure if Hill could be a Sunday guy until he made some in traffic catches the past couple of weeks. I have been saying for years - every WR at the college level is "fast" (some more so than others) and they can all catch (the ones that can't aren't called WRs) - but if they can catch in traffic across the middle, or take the hit and hold on, they have a shot. What I need to start watching is his blocking downfield. I think that is what gave Pierre the edge. He had the speed, the hands, made catches in traffic, and had a ton of film showing him leading a convoy for Nate the Great 40 yards downfield. Even Dungy said they noticed his blocking and were impressed.

Hill, as a sophmore, has better ball skills than Pierre did as a sophmore.  Hill might not be quite the explosive athlete like Pierre or have the top end speed of Cecil, but match them up as sophmores and Hill is in that group.  Give Hill two more years in the Mount Union weight room, top notch coaching from WR U and the same QB for all of those years.....you're looking at a beast on the field  for the next three years.  Good luck D3

Dr. Acula

Agree 100% on the ball skills.  Hill's ability to adjust to the ball, go up and make plays in traffic, make plays over defenders, etc. is better than any of the WRs I've seen at Mount as sophs.  He is a big time talent.

Also, looking ahead...I wonder if Ruth has the option to come back for a 5th year.  He missed the entire season 2 years ago (I think).

Well, I made Week 6 of the OAC Pick-Em way too easy for y'all.  Nearly every player scored in double-digits and the teams that got the most votes each won with the spread.  Which means that Conventional Wisdom took medalist honors with a perfect 16 points.

Among the homosapiens, rscl70 and Raider 68 both scored 15 points, the latter leap-frogging reality check back into first place.

Week 7 spreads come out Monday night.

I'd just be curious to know who the last Mount QB was to play any meaningful time as a freshman before this latest trio.

Neal Seaman, Bill Borchert.

Clearly, I need to re-take Quoting 101.

Thanks! I guess I forgot about seaman in 2009 because of Kurt Rocco.

How could anyone forget the adolescent's wet dream/joke: Seaman to Shorts?!  Having not yet grown up (I'm only 69 ;D), that p-b-p line still cracks me up! ::)
