One team I do think is over rated is UWO. I know the transitive property's not a great way to judge teams but the fact that JCU gave UWO a hard time and then got thumped by berg makes me feel like berg would have a pretty good shot at beating Oshkosh... which makes UWO more deserving of s teens ranking in my book. Guess we'll find out this week when they play platteville.

Using that argument then Berg beat up jcu, Mount destroyed Berg...so Mount beats jcu 186-3. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Granted I would love to see Mount beat jcu by that score. I have a hard time projecting Berg against anyone in the top 10 right now. UWO and jcu played the first week and it was the 3rd game in their series.

On a side note - HSU and the little sisters of the poor comment: if that is true then who is Berg? The physically impaired, blind cousin of the little sisters of the poor?
**This post is in no way intended to ridicule physical impairment, blindness, sisters, little sisters, or their cousins lacking in economic means.**

Agree, it doesn't work like that, I'm just saying that berg is roughly as good as JCU if not a little better... Therefore they'd probably be able to compete with UWO, probably not win, but compete. So in my head UWO is overrated. Again though we'll learn a lot when they take on Platt

Berg beat some decent teams prior to Mount.  If Berg can avoid any upset, they should be 9-1 and hosting a 1st rd game.

Well isn't that the trick now.  Luckily it is now the "easier" half of the schedule, with opponents such as Wilm, Cap, Etta.  Hopefully we can build some large leads early so a lot of our second teamers can get some playing time, as we will loose a lot of players to graduation.

There are two games I can see us blowing, one is this Saturday night against the Otterbein.   Even against some of our better teams of a few years ago, this game has always been close going in the 4th quarter.  I could also see us losing against those pesky bees when we travel to BW in week 9.    After that embarrassment last week, and that slow game against the Muskies, I am doubting that predicted 9-1 finish.

This is the best way to deal with that!  ;D

Prayers.

yes, that's about all that could help Capital tomorrow

Yes Capital has very little chance tomorrow, but my prayers go out to a family fimilar to those on this board that sure could use some.

I would be interested to know who was the last QB who didn't throw an interception in his first 148 career passes as a FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORE.

(DesertRaider:  Mount's next four games are against Capital, Wilmington, Otterbein and Muskingum.  What could POSSIBLY go wrong??)

(Besides, if something DOES go wrong, I don't have to worry about you.  The air traffic controller right up the street will kill me long me before you get near.)

For anyone that watched the St Ignatius game last night against 3-4 Moeller....a lot can go wrong. Maybe a fumble return for a TD, or a Safety, or a punt return for a TD, or the O turns it over 4x, or 3 of the TOs give the opponent the ball inside your own 20 (2 inside your own 10). By my count the O and special teams gave Moeller 25 points while the D surrendered a legit 16. But the team lost 41-20. So alot can go wrong at any time.   :o

Trivia Alert:

For those listening to WDPN, during the first quarter of the 2007 Averett game they were referring to, Mount set the NCAA record for points in a quarter with 52.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

I thought that game was 2007?

Actually 2007, right?  I was living in Louisiana then.  (I place so many memories of "what happened" according to what base I was assigned to, 1981-2007.)

In 2007 Mount opened with Averett and won 75-7. In 2001...Mount didn't play Averett.

6 TD passes in a half is decent if the other QB throws for 7....in this case it's awesome.

CAPs QB isn't bad but the Mount pass D is giving me a headache.

I did check and it was 2007. Micheli was 9 of 9 for 123 yds with no TDs. Garcon 3 receptions for 28 yds. Looking at those numbers one might assume it was a game. But there it is...Kmic 7 carries 156 yds, 4tds. Wow. 52 points in quarter. I think they actually scored 72 by half and kicked a second half FG.
