I am not much of a poster on here, but being in Georgia I do not get to make it to games so this website keeps me in the loop, but after seeing the article about the 50 point rule I had to throw my 2 cents in.  Being from a small school I was on the receiving end of many 50+ or 60+ losses in high school.  Other teams always had their 2nd and sometimes 3rd teams playing.  Those losses hurt but no where nearly as bad as a well fought close game.  Coaches and players who are upset by being beat by 50 should work harder and if working harder is too much trouble then maybe football isnt the game for you. I have not heard of anyone loosing by 50 in soccer, so maybe that is the sport for you. The only thing that should matter to the people in those committies is that the kids play safe anything other then that they should let be decided on the field.

In regards to the 50 point rule I feel that we are babying these kids to much now a days.  There is nothing like a good ole fashioned butt kicking every now and then.  It is healthy for you.

Hi all.  Yes, I've been away a short time.

So fill me in on everything since I've been gone.

I am pretty sure the 50 point rule would be met with much criticism and disdain in South Carolina.  Although at our spring sports banquet the other night we did receive a very small amount of criticism from one lady about not giving trophies to every athlete.  But that was just one lady who's son is a terrible athlete.  I think any one with any sense anywhere would think this is a terrible rule.

What is more embarassing?  Getting beat 60-0 or getting beat 45-0 with the other team taking a knee with 5 minutes to go.

This rule simples teaches kids to be sissies and cry babies.

As for the NASCAR. I haven't been to the race yet.  Gates open for Busch race tomorrow at 3.  I will try to come up with a check list of the interesting things I see.

I think I am going to risk it and drink Miller Lite while rooting for Dale Jr.

Good to see you back.  How is Jr. doing?  I see he tired of the Canton Legends and "retired" to a normal life now.

Yeah, he's got a little too much on his plate right now.  He's getting married next month and they just bought a place that he's spending every spare minute working on.  That doesn't displease me.  I've gone to enough of his games.

RC, I see you're still making friends on the site.

reality check

Ah yes bwdad, I have a not-so-secret admirer out west but I think the rest of the board at least stomaches me.

I know I'll take some karma hits for this (and it's totally worth it!!!) but since you've been gone at least one thing happened:

Do you check the email on your profile regularly?  I have something I would like to discuss with you.  Not typical trash talk; civil stuff for a change.

For those that don't follow the Track board, MUC won the 4 X 100 relay at Nationals.  Pierre Garcon ran the second leg.

Marietta is the only remaining undefeated team (3-0)
in the D3 championship baseball series. They get to rest Monday while the other 3 teams battle it out to be their final opponent on Tuesday.

Wakefield at Mount Union?  Maybe LK is going to switch to the Wing T.  ::)

Glad to hear LK is reloading his supply of old high school coaches. Clyde Ross told me at the Stagg Bowl that he was coming back for 2006 as well. There really is a wealth of knowledge going to waste among some of these guys. Of course I'm a little age biased toward the upper end. :P

My weekend at NASCAR was interesting.  You don't realize how fast 170 MPH is until you see it from 50 feet and hear it as well. That alone is impressive.

I have also heard how once you go see a race live you will become a fan.  That happened for me, I am now a fan of watching the races on TV.  Or maybe just going for one day.  I had a lot of fun on Saturday before, during and after the Busch race.  Perhaps too much fun.   The fun started when my friend and I wandered out of the low rent district and found a camper complete with a kiddie pool and pretty girls spraying people with water guns.  Turns out the girls were not affiliated with the camper, they had simply stopped by due to the allure of the kiddie pool.  I couldnt figure them out until I overheard the following conversation.

Hot Girl #1: (as man on golf cart  drives by wearing Jimmie Johnson pit crew gear) There goes Jimmie's crew chief.
Even Hotter Girl #2: So how is it you know Jimmie?
HG#1: He comes into the Men's Club(well known Charlotte strip club) all the time with Jeff.
EHG#2: I have never seen him with Jeff.

I am only assuming Jeff is Jeff Gordon but I could be wrong.

RC,

Yeah I check it if I have mail. Send away.
