e lee,

I know what you mean about being a race fan ONLY after being there to witness the event.  I can't tell you how many times I've been to the Indy 500.....but this year's version was the best I've seen....we had a perfect view in turn 4 of Ohio native Sam Hornish, Jr's pass of Andretti.

That said, you should go to an IRL race....compare the speeds between IRL and Nascars and you'll see that watching Nascar is like watching a painting.

Saintsfan,
GOt that right! WOW, was at the time trials for INdy a few years back and even got a pit pass for free, talk about fast and wild! WOW, and the power!  Great to see an Ohio guy getting the checkered flag once again, other than Rahal.

SaintsFAN

mtfan,

we managed to sneak past security in Gasoline Alley after the race.....got to see Sam's better half, Crystal....she'll be in FHM or Maxim one day.

my liver is still a little pissed at me today....

Raider66 would have been proud of you. He was a high level closet Nascar fan, having done a few race weekends in Daytona with his son-in-law. Gotta love any sport that starts with an invocation, National Anthem complete with giant flag and a military fly-by. Guess I'm just a red state redneck. ;D

Sorry Saintfan - IRL is just too damn polite. You gotta slam somebody into the wall every now and then or it really is just going around in circles.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

seventies....

bumpin' isn't racing!!  Actually a few did slam eachother into the wall.  In this year's race....you had the two rookie teammates who took eachother out in turn 2 on LAP 2 (and also had one cursing the other)....Carmelo Anthony owned one of those two cars....

and also two former winners touched wheels in turn 4 on lap 103 causing a crash that was very nice on the eyes.

Interesting way of building a program?

Whitewater - Tailback Booker Stanley, who was kicked off the University of Wisconsin football team in February, and cornerback Antonio Freeman, who was suspended indefinitely from the team in January, have inquired about transferring to UW-Whitewater, which reached the Division III national title game last season.

Stanley, a former standout at Whitefish Bay High School, faces multiple charges stemming from two incidents in the last year. The most serious of those charges are second-degree sexual assault and second-degree recklessly endangering safety, both felonies.

Freeman, from Wauwatosa West, was recently placed in a first offender's program after being charged with possession of marijuana in Jefferson County. If he completes the six-month program he will not face prosecution.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Genius Gone Bad

everyone deserves a second chance.  I'm sure Whitewater would love to have those guys on there team.  Maybe the small school setting will help those guys out.

According to my wife, I'm on my 18th or 19th chance ??? Not sure this small town setting is helping me out :-[

mtfan-- It's ALIIIIIIIVE! See you have waken from hibernation.(sp) Oh I forgot, that stuff is for Polar Bears that screw grizzly bears and have cross-eyed cubs  8)   about the wife, you might be right, but who the hell's counting eh? Just in for a note or you in for the season? I'll have some updates for ya on the contenders and pretenders but I'll e-mail those until I have been given the authority to blab a little. Maybe we'll just leave all that insider stuff to hscoach and Ric's discretion :-X Talk atcha later

mtfan

B4,,

Aww, I'm getting through the spring crunch, lol, so have a bit more time to start firing up here a bit and checking out things! I can see that RC got on that Polar bear article real quick, lol, some quick damage control ! I've heard a few scoops as well for the upcoming season but you may already know some as well. One thing is for sure, i can't wait for things to start hopping with the pre season, man this arena crap just don't seem to get it!

b4uknewit

I think RC damage controlled my karma from that last remark! or should I say (damaged) my karma. Perhaps I'll catch up with 70's by season :o

I didn't touch your karma.  I just figured your wife got herself a handle on here and is choosing to whoop your virtual butt along with the flesh and blood one.   ;D
