I've been on Post Patterns for years and just found this board. I'm actually a bit surprised that such a place exists, given that UMU alumni aren't known to be especially well-acquainted with reading and writing. Kudos on proving the doubters wrong. By the way, what's with all the hate for Coach Caruso?

Reading and writing might not be our things, but we are decent at math....

28 > 10
49 > 35

I don't know. I'm pretty good at both reading and writing. I even have a PhD - but am not insecure enough to use it in my username...on a sports board. I even taught at Mount and can therefore say with confidence they are pretty good at reading and writing too. For example if Mount's mission statement had a segment on dignity, oh I don't know let's say something along the lines of: "We respect the dignity of each person and value the unique contributions that each brings to the greater mosaic of the university community" (https://www.stthomas.edu/mission/), they would probably read that as "grinding an opponents face into the turf for no reason and embarrassing them for amusement in the hopes of bringing attention to yourself is the opposite of respecting dignity.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe you can help answer a few questions:

1. Do they actually call what the faculty does at UMU teaching?
2. UMU has a mission statement? I didn't know community colleges were into that sort of thing.
3. Since when did opposing football teams become members of the UST community?

Oh that's right, I forgot. The Christian ethic According to Tommie Theology only applies to other Tommies. So the Tommies support diversity among Tommies. They support Respect for other Tommies. They support dignity directed at other Tommies. Like a little club - if your with us you're great, if not well.. How very Christian of you. I am sure your Seminaries are proud.

Your PhD must be in Theology...it's clearly not in English.    ;D

In conclusion - Rev is in fact St Glen. An asshat. Don't choke on your curds in the middle of the night - well do actually, just don't expect much in terms of empathy from the Tommie brethren. Unless you are a Tommie that is.

D O.C.

Before we move on, I just want to state I've never had the occasion to pass out so much applaud on the OAC board before.

(And somehow I wish it was UMU-St.T this first round)

skunks_sidekick

Darn it!  I picked a bad day/night to not be able to sleep.  As I get older, and if not wiser at least more discerning, I rarely spout off on this great D-3 venue as I did in my younger (but not that young) days or yore.  However....

1.  SJU used to be the nemesis of us Mount fans back "in the day".  You know...before U$T was even relevant in anyone's discussion.  And then, 2003 happened.  And it dawned on us Mount fans, that team/college/coach/tradition EARNED our respect.  They didn't ask for it, they took it with a big club (and we all know his name), and from that day forward, Mount fans had a huge respect & cousinly love for our Johnnie brethren.
2.  2011 (yes Pat I am going to bring this up again) Mount is playing those darn War Sparrows for the umpteenth time in a row, and quite honestly that juggernaut had Mount's number.  After an extremely hard fought, tough Stagg Bowl, one St. Glen decides he wants to pick LK's brain right after that said hard fought game.  LK graciously spends 45 minutes outside the locker room talking to St. Glen, and giving him all kinds of coaching nuggets, insights, and what not.
3.  2012 After Mount CLEARLY has the game in hand, St. Glen determines it's "playing to the whistle" to have his lineman torpedo the center, QB, and anyone else as Mount is being gracious and taking a knee (something we NOW know St. Glen knows nothing about).  It was an extremely tense/uncomfortable moment after the game on the field.
4.  2015 I can neither confirm or deny that VK was hoping that St. Glen would have said or acted in his usual ass hat manner.  I just know that St. Glen wanted no part of any/all of that.
5.  Now we are seeing the same idiotic behavior in moments that allows us to surmise that St. Glen hasn't learned a thing, and is now thinking he is beyond reproach, and behaves accordingly.

Mind you....this is one fan's view, and is in no way a blanket condemnation of St. Glen, U$T, or anything related to that fine institution.

Wait.....who am I kidding....TOMMIES SUCK!   (Except for Bench who has expressed humor, insight, and a level view from a Tommie perspective)

Wow, I wish the Mount coaches would have watched the films. Then they would have seen an offense like W&L. Thanks for the info.

Come on now... I've been sitting here (mostly) quietly eating my popcorn and now I'm going to have to throw the bucket at you Saints...

Craft_Beermeister

I must admit it has been an entertaining week so far reading the post on this board.

Mr.MIAC

Here are some vital stats on W&L. I predict UMU will stomp them. It's hard to compete when you let little things like academics get in the way of making a run for another national championship.

Score of 30 - 36: 88%
Score of 24 - 29: 12%
Score of 18 - 23: 0%
Score of 12 - 17: 0%
Score of 6 - 11: 0%
Score of 5 or Below: 0%

Yes, 'des', there is. Drop the recent impostor role, it is beneath you. Get back to what you do best - d3 (OAC/Mount) Football Technology!

Sorry to interrupt the Glen Caruso love fest but we should all see this play from Berg/Cap...

I forget, are schools allowed to charge to watch streaming video of playoff games?

MTU has a link to watch this weekends game on Stretch Internet and it's usually $10 for a regular season home game.
