its not always about money. Larry was very loyal. Hopefully Vince stays a long long long long time..

From what I heard the closest Larry came to leaving Mount Union was when he was offered the Kent job and asked to have time to sleep on it and decided next morning to stay at Mount Union.

Would love to Ed get a HC job even if it is Kent State.  I'll bet he could make them competitive at least.  He would not do this for the money because financially it would be roughly a lateral move ($550K)

Congratulations to Matt Campbell on agreeing to a agreed a new six-year
contract worth $22.5M.  Matt's annual salary will increase
from $2.1M to $3.5M.

The Cyclones will also increase the football staff's annual compensation by $1M.

former Mount players are hot right now on the coaching carousel.  Candle probably won't be at UT much longer and Alex Grinch and Tommy Manning will make it four FBS head coaches for Mount in the next couple of years.  Let's just hope VK hangs up the phone when Kent comes calling.

If he was going to leave for a bigger job he would have done so already.

I'm not as confident on that.  Had he left before he would have moved to D1 as a position coach (like Hallett did).  But enough success as a HC at Mount and maybe he can get a MAC HC job?  The Kent job sucks, but Candle is making 700k at Toledo.  That's A LOT of money compared to what VK makes currently.  If Kent calls and wants to pay you 400k to walk into that dumpster fire you hang up the phone.  If Candle leaves and Toledo called?  Well, that's a different story IMO.

That's a very good point. Huge difference between working up the ladder hoping to get paid down the line to immediately making life-changing amounts of money. Still think he's gonna stay though, making $100k + in Alliance can give you a pretty comfortable lifestyle.

I assume he's making st least 6 figures since LK was making $121k in 2005

The Kent fans have mentioned VK a few times on their forum. Most seem to think he's at least worth asking.

Praiderguy... can we have Brett Elliott put in a good word for him?

Not good folks.

I know some have said his situation isn't the terrible, but it just doesn't look good if you don't take care of things. I hope the coaches are telling him loud and clear to take care of off field business before he can play.

Pat Coleman

Agreed. Showing up for a court date is something the court looks favorably on.

Was the speeding and suspended license thing while at Mount Union??
Because Mount's stance had been reported that since the charges and failure to appear were high school issues, before he became a Mount student, this changes the picture dramatically, IMO.

Failure to appear while a Mount student calls for immediate action,  again, IMO

Look - ya know what, I am not even going to say it. HA! I lied.

You can explain away the felony battery: he was a kid, he moved, it was a misunderstanding, his mom may have told him this or that, he thought it was taken care of, he can play because it didn't happen while a student at Mount Union (direct shot at you Richard Merriman!) HOWEVER- this kid has a problem. There is no way he was not aware of this (don't even try the 'he may have thought since he had to be Broward by Dec 20, it took care of this as well').

You skip court and flee to another state (it IS what happened). The get pulled over, arrested - brought in on the outstanding warrant - and then skip the court date for the arrest!

News flash -  Florida courts can (because he skipped this appearance) ask for immediate extradition because he skipped court again. D'Angelo is not playing again this year (at least). Period. He shouldn't and we all know that.

True. His Atty is listed as Max Houpt according to write-up.

enter "All" in both fields, continue, enter Fulford.

He has not - as of yet - had a warrant issued in the system on the new FTA and he may not. It depends on the court. If a FTA is issued on the new one he will be arrested. Then it gets interesting because since he would have (2) FTA the court could deny bond and turn him over to FL after his hearing in Stark.
