I think one of the biggest factors in this game is how quickly Cox can adjust to the speed of Mounts defense. Case's QB got eaten alive by the purple raider secondary (3 picks in the first half, and a ton of batted away pass break up) until he adjusted. He had much more success throwing to Phan in the second half. Cox threw 3 picks against w and j last week, so I could definitely see a long afternoon for him unless he's much sharper. If I were the Frostburg coaching staff I'd draw up a couple of designed qb scrambles up the middle ( since that's how a lot of Cases rushing success came) to try and get then D to cheat towards playing the run, then go for some short routes outside.

I really hate to break in, but does Mount Union have a game this Saturday?
If so, would love to hear some comments about our chances, how good the other team is etc.
I'll wait on the edge of my seat for some responses. Thank you and good day.

Mount could play Fulford, Poorman or a 1957 graduate at QB and roll this week.

Then 👏🏻 Play 👏🏻 Anyone 👏🏻 Other 👏🏻 Than 👏🏻 Fulford

why?  if he wasn't in the wrong prior to playoff game one, then what has he done to be suspended?

I rather doubt that UMU is SO dominant they could beat Frostburg with an 81-year-old QB!  (Though, I've never met MUC57 -
maybe he really IS superman! ;D)  Frostburg just wishes VK thought like that too!  I'm not sure Frostburg is good enough to win if both teams play well; they ARE plenty good enough to beat a team that totally overlooks them.

Unfortunately for Frostburg, I doubt VK is nearly as dumb as you. ::)

And the great majority of posters, including UMU fans, don't think Fulford should have played the first week of the playoffs.  It looks bad for UMU, and for all of D3, where winning is not supposed to be more important than real life.  The Heisman Trophy is for the best football player, period.  The Gagliardi is for football, academics, and community service (and I'm not sure court-ordered community service counts :P).

I'm not dancing.  I generally don't think hazing in HS is that big of a deal.  I must be a monster.  I do not know the specifics of the FL juvenile charges, would you please fill us in with the details.

per d3football.com
QuoteAccording to Max Haupt, Fulford's attorney, Fulford's failure to appear in court was because the ticket Fulford received was marked that he was not required to appear in court. It is not clear why the ticket and the court records were in conflict. Haupt said he believed, based on the ticket, that Fulford would be able to pay the fine and was not aware of a court date.

If the Stark County court can accept the explanation, then maybe those in the glass houses in University Heights can accept them the same.

Alright, fella.  You are the one who keeps suggesting this is a simple case of high school hazing.  No one else is offering any details.  You're the one offering the details.  You're the one suggesting this isn't a big deal.  You're the using any excuse under the sun as to why Fulford didn't show up to court (twice), including suggesting that he received legal advice to skip his court date(s).  So I will ask you again, do you not know the details of the case, or was this minor hazing?  You've said both in the last 4-6 hours and over the last few weeks.

Thanks in advance for only answering that bolded question.

Wouldn't it be something if Fulford was reading this entire thread???

What if Merlecanlas is Fulford??

I fee like it's good that merlecanlas wasn't someone important in history. Can you imagine if he was Elliot Ness or something?

Cop: Oh no! Al Capone's robbing the Chicago Board of Trade!!
merlecanlas: Let's not blow things out of proportion. I'm sure he has a good explanation for robbing the Board of Trade. I hear he's actually a really nice guy

shudder at the thought!

Merlecanlas, I can't say I approve of your methods!

No, I'm hardly superman. I must admit, no one guesses my age. I look reasonable for an old guy. Still have a full head of hair.
But Mount doesn't want me playing QB. Frostburg State might want me at QB, that is, playing for UMU. Besides, some one has to stay in the stands to assist the ladies. Hey, I'm old, not dead.
But I digress. Nice chatting with you Mr. Ypsi.

I was already a little concerned with FSU before this distraction came up. FSU has a very solid defense and an offense that can run the ball well and an athletic QB, which is what hurts our D. I've been happy with the progress our D has made lately and think our DBs can hang with FSU's receivers, which allows you to commit your linebackers to the run more often. Looking forward to watching the challenge!

Instructions to appear in juvenile court are directed to the parents, not the child. Child is defined as a person under 18. Is is wholly on the parents to see he or she gets to court accompanied by a parent. The child is not  notified, his parent(s)or custodial parent is. Period.
If a child turns 18 while the case is pending, there is an attempt to notify he or she of the fact there is an unresolved case. This attempt at notification, long after the fact, may or not be successful. It is entirely reasonable and even likely Fulford had no knowledge he was due in court in Florida on a 2015 case he had never been notified about.
He may be in fact Not Guilty of the pending charge. He is in fact presumed to be innocent, and that presumption of innocence prevails until and unless he is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Who says he is not entitled to that presumption of innocence? Have you no respect for the Constitution of the United States of America? No respect for the Bill of Rights?
The traffic ticket he received is clearly marked No Appearance Required. Who would hire a lawyer for such a minor matter?
The Judge, a former Prosecutor and Judge of 30 years experience, had the last word....Warrant Cancelled, Courts costs only, 2 points for speeding. No fine. no license

I think Frostburg will be a better than good test. I suspect they may have the best D we have faced, but question whether they can cover all Mount's receivers.  The key will be, IMO, the Bobcat's ability to pressure the QB, whomever is back there.  Watching their highlights, #33 looks like a beast of a pass rusher.

Again, as a Mount alum, I think Fulford should have sat the W and L game, however, there has to be some things that at not public that make a difference.  Larry Kehres is beyond reproach when the Mount program comes into question.  For those who doubt that, you DO NOT know this man.  He is as upright as anyone who has ever walked the sidelines and would never, I repeat, never give in to his standards to win a game.  I could also state that he would never, I repeat, never allow Vince to do anything to tarnish the Mount brand.    Many a person has been a target of the LK wrath, and many do not care for him because of his personality or they are just plain jealous of his success.  He does not suffer fools and has no time for silly games. He is driven and focused and his record speaks for itself.  His graduation rate is over the moon.  I think he was quoted a few years ago that only ONE player who stayed in the program did not graduate and LK, himself, was going to make sure that he finished.  I would be willing to bet that the kid graduated....maybe a year late, but graduated.

Let's say he didn't know there was a felony charge. Let's say he didn't know he was driving without a license. Let's say the no-show at court was unintentional. These things still happened. The most serious issues are still unresolved. Do you think these issues, especially the felony and driving without a license, are okay? If so, to my mind that's a problem. If not, why is it acceptable to play him when they're unresolved? Aside from the fact that playing him removes some of the consequences for his alleged behavior, the QB holds a leadership position on the team and within a team like Mount Union, the wider community. Do you want to tell your children to emulate someone who has a standing felony charge? Do you want to tell your children that Mount Union doesn't care about felony charges? If you say people should forgo caring, you're really saying we shouldn't value the law.

Question for the lawyers:

I understand you may not be intimately acquainted with Florida law but I have two questions regarding JUVENILE court and Mr. Fulford:

1)  When the judge decides guilty/innocent/other, will this decision be made public?

2)  If the judge imposes punishment, will the punishment be made public?

Thanks in advance and I, for one, appreciate all the "inside baseball" talk.
