I think the key for Mount will be to get some quick scores like last Saturday's game. I can't imagine the ground and pound of the WIAC schools will be able to play catch up if they fall behind or in a shootout type scenario. Will see.

Oshkosh isn't necessarily ground and pound the way Leipold-era Whitewater teams were.  The Titans can definitely get vertical on you (see Brett Kasper's first half vs. North Central).  That's a really, really diverse offense up there.  Going to be a really fun game I think.

I post this only so you understand a bit more about UWO. UWO passed for 300+ w 6 TD's last week against NCC and 250 a couple days ago. In both games they had about the same number of rushing yards. UWO can surely ground and pound, but in no way are they limited to that.
Like K&J said, this team is like the UWW of old, and despite the "pound the rock" mantra, those teams could throw the ball really well (2009, 2013, 2014) and also run power.

I'm not suggesting Mt can't win, but this UWO is a far different animal than what you've seen in the regular season and playoffs to date.
I have to believe this game will require Mt to be at their old "championship" level.

Huge, I mean huge story on LK's induction into the College Football Hall of Fame on today's Canton Repository. Don't miss it. It's must read!

I know right. This group has been preparing for this moment since they were driving themselves to Pop Warner games.

I'm sure there are some nice retirement homes around Oshkosh for them after Saturday.  I hear Swiss Acres, Cheddar Farms , Pepperjack Place and Gouda Village are all really nice

For any Mount faithful making the trek to the tundra Saturday, if tailgating isn't your scene, I would highly recommend Fox River Brewing as a great place to get a drink before kickoff! Really good beer, and it's less than a mile from the stadium.
be warned, it may or may not also be a pregame spot for Oshkosh fans (as it was last year), but they were really welcoming there!

UWO Titan 78

If all eligible returning starters come back next year, Oshkosh will return 7 offensive starters and 9 defensive starters. Yes, we will lose the marquee names at QB, RB, and WR, but the cupboard is hardly bare. We all know that the game is won in the trenches, and we will return 4 starting offensive linemen and 6 of 7 defensive linemen on the two deep. No reason to think our competitive window is closing after this year.

what year did those juniors graduate high school, 2010?  Whoever is in charge of the NOT-redshirting program at UWO is doing a good job.  I bet those freshman intramural flag football teams are tough at UWO
