Does Coach Kehres have any student assistants or managers(outside of student trainers etc.)?  Most schools would use those individuals for statistics and for dragging tackling dummies etc around for the team, but from what I understand he is definitely interested in the person beyond football.  Is there a program at Mount where a student could be involved with the football team/Kehres without being an athlete?  Maybe the kid just wants to learn coaching at this point.

LK does have student assistants. Most of these post are given to students finishing up their "5th year". At D3 like most schools a lot of time is taken up by football. Most cases it is a player who played and has to finish his student teaching. Possibly take a couple classes.
LK remains loyol to these kids and helps them anyway he can. He apparently feels they have "paid the price". These gets garner some experiene for coaching while finishing college.
I sure don't blame him for taking these kids onboard first.
If the kid doesn't want to play football, that is fine. I just hope he gets his education.

Hello, is anybody in here?

Coach Montgomery is adding more MUC graduates to his staff at Emory and Henry.  In addition to Stan Watson (DC/Linebackers), Anthony Frate and Joe Montgomery will be coaching the Defensive Backs this year.

And speaking of E&H, I wonder how long Monty gets before he needs to start winning?  They didn't bring in the #2 guy at MUC just to finish at 1-9 every year.  I'm guessing he better be at least .500 this year or the pressure will be turned up.

One would hope that they give him enough time to get some of his own recruits playing--they should also include time for him to get familiar with the area. I hope they give him at least two more seasons.

I saw some E & H spring practice,,, much more organized on "O"  ,,also a strength program has been developed ,,a good work attitude ,, etc,,,so there are many things looking better at E&H,,, Frate was there for Spring Ball,,so he is ready to contribute as a Coach,,, and some good frosh recruits too.

reality check

The Carolina Panthers have released a position by position outlook in PDF form on their website.  The good news is Jamal Robertson's name is right there at the top of the Running Backs synopsis.  The bad news is that this is the only place his name appears on the half-page write-up on running backs.  It's hard to believe but this year the backfield is even more crowded than last year with the addition of Deangelo Williams and the return of Erik Shelton (IR).

Also for those that care, Shane Franzer QB'ed the Port Huron Pirates to victory in the first ever Great Lakes Bowl and plays in the all-star game next weekend.

The GLIFL also announced today that starting in 2007, Wooster will have its own franchise in the form of the Wayne County Rumble.  The Rumble will be owned by former Muskingum running back Ramone Davenport who previously played for arena teams in Cincinnati and Roanoke.

If I had to guess, 70'sRaider was begging for karma a few weeks back and since then, everyone on the OAC page has seen an increase.  Not sure who's all invloved, but it looks like we have a few "karma sluts" in here freely giving themselves up............

Great to see Shane Franzer win another title playing Arena.  I hope he gets a chance to play some arena  ball soon.  He seems to win a title on every team he plays with.
