anyone coming out of retirement?

As long as there's no running involved, I'm thinking about it.

I just noticed Tom Arth was released yesterday according to this mornings paper. I think the paper said he was with Green Bay.

Hope he can catch on somewhere else. We need all the D3 power we can get. All the good QB's that have played and there hasn't been anyone catch on really since Kenny Anderson that I can remember.

I wonder if LeCharles Bentley is as big a fan of Berea as the rest of us.

Justin  Stickley is the best defensive end in the country.Mike Jorris might end up the only Purple QB to win 15 games in a year. This is a great team coming. A knowledgeble source tells me there will be no drop off in talent on defense.

I watched the MUC scrimmage and was very impressed with the offense. The O-line is huge. There were some impressive freshman and sophomores working with the first two units at running back and reciever.Mason seemed in command at QB,he really looked good.I saw the seconed coming of Adam Marino lined up at WR.MUC will field a great offensive unit in 2005.
After this quote from a year ago I tend to listen more closely to Purple's observations (Even if he was wrong about Mason.) ;)

Well I lost a point or two off my karma which leads me to believe there is either one Browns fan out there or someone is a closet BW fan.  I shudder at the thought of being guilty of either accusation.

No offense, but projecting success for Mount Union (15 wins for the QB, super-talented defensive players, potent offense) doesn't strike me as being a tremendously bold projection given the Purple Raiders recent and continued success. :)

Incidentally, I used to root for the Browns pretty heavily back in the days of Kevin Mack, Hanford Dixon and Mike Baab.

You have to feel for this franchise with everything that's gone wrong from Ernest Byner's fumbles to the transformation into the Ravens to the recent training camp injuries.

I'd make a comment about how hard the Cleveland sports fans have had it in general, but I live in Philadelphia which has its own problems. :)

BWDE97

RC: For my debute post I would like to Proclaim my support and loyalty to BW.  Despite your obvious disgust for the place, it's actually not all that bad.  Admittedly, the social scene sucks, they are becoming overly conservative, and the Football team is in a critical "make or break" situation...... the degree got me a job after college.

Stickley is good, but by no means the best DE in the country, that goes to either Trusnik or this cat from Rowan (not sure of his name, but he was a beast as a sophmore last year).

Thanks Frank

He was a pretty good one with a long career as I recall. What year did he start in the NFL and where did he go to college? I'll admit it I'm a little lazy and some good digging and I would be able to get the info but you know it off the top.

Raiderguy,  I also remembered Dave Kreig.  He went to Milton College in WI which has since folded (1982 I think).  Since the college is closed, I couldn't find any info if Milton was DIII or not.  However, Krieg is listed in the NAIA website as a former NAIA player being in the NFL.  http://naia.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/091005aaa.html
Not sure if Milton was one of those dual NAIA/NCAA schools or not.  If I had to be picky I would say that he wouldn't count as a DIII guy.

Kreig played in the NFL from 1980 through 1998. Info on Milton is hard to dig out.

I agree that Stickley might not be the best DE in the nation, but he is definatly in the top 5 and is an All-American caliber player. There are few players that I would take over him.
