I like the idea of Robinson playing safety. He has good height and hands already to go along with the speed. I bet he even will enjoy being on the other side of the hits. Remember defense is alot like Christmas...better to GIVE than RECEIVE...especially hard contact. I envision a few long interceptions for touchdowns.

Even though I have no way to monitor the game, I must say that as I type this, there is a calmness about me knowing that my high school is playing tonight and football season is finally and officially started in my book.

Jamal followed up his strong week 2 showing tonight with a not so hot line of 4 carries for 6 yards.  He started with a 14 yard carry but fumbled and fell on the ball on his second and then lost a yard or two on his next two carries.  He also had a kick return for 30 yards.  Deangelo Williams had a very good game as well with 9 attempts for 41 yards and a 98 yard KO return for TD.  That's not good for Jamal having another returner take it back for a TD.

Through three games, Jamal has 1 catch for 12 yards, 5 KR's for 135 yards (27 per KR) and 7 rush for 34 yards (4.9 per carry).

Jamal's biggest competition in camp from what I can tell is Erik Shelton and Albert Haynes.  Haynes has 1 catch for 11 yards, 6 carries for 43 yards, and no KR's.  Shelton has 6 carries for 24 yards, no catches and no KR's.  Neither one played in tonight's game.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Jamal.

Man, this being a dad thing is HARD work.  I haven't been in here in weeks where in the past I was a daily visitor.

The little one is doing great though.  Growing fast.  He was just under 6lbs when he was born and now he is approaching 10.  He will be 3 months next week.  Time flies.

I am not even going to atempt to catch up on reading 20+ pages of posts that I missed, so just wondering how camps were going.  What's the summarized version on my Crusaders... how do the new receivers look?  What about the front 7 on D?

HScoach running post patterns again???? F-ing great.  I'm in for another year of pain and heartache trying to pick against his spreads.  I'll do my best to stay on top of it.  We got a new boss, so this looks like it will be a pretty busy year for me.  Still hoping to make it to Alliance for the MUC-Cap game.

The Buckeyes practiced at Capital last night,  about 2000 fans showed up to watch.  Tressel spoke to Caps team before OSU took the field.  I noticed that Tressel has several ex OAC guys on his coaching staff.

Former Mount kicker Chad Teague is coaching at  Clarenceville High School up here in Michigan.  See the quick Mount reference, its about halfway through the article.

This is probably the most we've heard about Capital since camp started.  Hopefully someone knows something they haven't been sharing so you get your answers.

Here is the link to the info on Capital's website, with an addiiton link to the Dispatch story on OSU practice at Capital.

A lot of people are questioning Capital's new receivers.  Not all of them are as green as one might think.  Matt Cesaretto should emerge as the number one receiver.  He played quite a bit in 2004 before being sidelined with an injury last year.

In 2004 Cesaretto had 23 reception in 8 games for 381 yards.  So he has played a bit before as have Mike Ndziewicki and Aaron Basha.  Collins has done a nice job having two or three guys ready to step up every year.  This year will be no different.

from what i've heard, capital has a nice freshman runningback in camp.  they are not sure who rocky is going to throw to, but they have options. oh and they have 40 times that rival the NFL combine, cap had a 4.2, numerous 4.3's and every rb ran 4.4 or better. and last but not least, running back jeremy mulkey will appear in the september issue of playboy as "Playboys best dressed on campus"

i agree! i've known coaches who exagerate preseason testing to boost confidence.  good tactic, but you gotta keep the times reasonable if the players are to take them seriously.

Soooooo.....Capital is not only FASTER than all other teams, but they have players dressed/undressed in Playboy?  Isn't that a magazine generally reserved for subscribers (men), viewing scantily (i.e. NONE) clad women, and a few articles about ummmmm....well they have articles I think.   ???

Sounds like a former/current CAP player having some fun.   ::)

Is this Pentello's 6th or 7th year at Cap? Guy seems to have been there forever.  ;)

Is there a sleeper this year in the OAC? Who will finish second?

For everyone who keeps questioning Cap's receivers, why??  Every year it is the same question, who is Rocky going to throw the ball to.  I will tell you, D. Alexander (transfer from ODC), M. Cesaratto & M. Niedzwiecki (both returners).  Plus, they have a few more seniors that will rotate in.  Granted, none of these players are a P. Garcon, but who is in D3??  Alexander will be the most talented of the 3 starters.

Not sure who these Frosh RB's are being mentioned, but there will be two Frosh in the mix.  One being a FB, and another mixing in with Mulkey giving him a breather.  Not sure of there names, as we didn't have a roster on-hand.

Last weeks purple/white was dominated by the offense, as Pentello picked apart the secondary.  Granted it will be different when he can be hit & rushed, but he looked really good!!  The offense didn't run the ball particulary well, but I am not sure if that was a credit of the D-Line.  You can definetly tell there was no Sparhawk in the middle...MUC fans should thank LK for not giving him an extra year he tried to apply for after last season.

Should be able to tell more at tomorrow's scrimmage vs. Bluffton, but it will be controlled and it is Bluffton.  So, here's counting down to 9/2 vs. Witt!!

You answered your own question.  Pentello is this year's sleeper.  He's so damn old he's going to need daily afternoon naps before being wheeled down to dinner by the nurses.
