Amen and Amen.
Scotty's posts are several steps below drivel. Scotty, please take your fears and concerns to Ineedhelp.com or some other imaginary web site. No one here gives a crap about your posts.

I was in awe of the performance MUC had Saturday but we should remember that it is still 1 game. Anything can happen as the season goes on (ask Capital). Opposing coaches will review film and make game preparations and game time adjustments. Mount will be forced to do the same.

Not disputing the talent which is clearly there, but every season each team developes its own personality and chemistry. The Radiers will be tested sometime this year and it will be interesting to see how they respond. I agree, though, its hard not to get excited about this team.  ;D

Why would that guy think we'd actually visit another board to read drivel when there's enough drivel here for everybody?  ;D

Coach Scafe,
When you see this, please contact me about getting your tape of last Saturday's game.  Thanks.

Here's my take.  Very athletic, not blazing speed like at any one position like a Chris Kern, but overall they have very good speed at all positions.  Great depth on D-line and in secondary.  Depth might be there at LB too, just haven't seen it at the varsity level yet.  Gibbons and Rees/DeRiggi have looked very good at ILB, but are undersized for inside backers.  Only concern I have defensively is a power running team.  Scheme wise, have liked their attacking style.  Not nearly as "bend-but-don't-break" as years past.  The Cap game will be a huge test in 2 weeks.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

After viewing the debacle at John Carroll this past weekend. I have a view observations that 99% of you overlooked, and therefore need to be said.

First, Mount Union did not "WIN" that game as much as JCU "LOST" it.
Second, MUC was forced to totally change there offense to follow the Urban Meyer Florida style shotgun. A move that JCU forced them to make, obviously part of a the game plan.
Third, of the TD passes I saw not only were the DB's in great position, it was simply a matter of the lights causing them to miss the football. I have it on close confidence that JCU in their on going relationship with IMG were wearing prototype contacts tinted specifically for sports. The problem was they were all in backwords because of a freak-like label machine problem. Thus not tinting the light but actually magnifying the lights. So the ball was in the air surrounded by psuedo Comets of light in the sky, an absolutely unmanagable situation.
I have been promised that the label maker manufacturer does have a warranty and it will be replaced. Unfortunately that does nothing for the JCU athletes who are now near blind. Their replacements will be excellent and the team will continue on their path to 4th or 5th in the conference, that they seemed very content to accept.

Still can't get over Cap's performance against the Otters! Hat's off to Otterbein. This should've been a blow out and it just proves that anything can happen on Saturday if you don't bring your A game.

cufan

ttubs....I dont know if you went to the game but Otters looked much better.  The Defense hit and the two wideouts were very impressive.  However, CU should of won this game.  The offensive game plan seem to be much different than the one we saw at Witt.  With 25+ seniors you would think they would be ready to play. Five turnovers IMO means lack of focus.  Hopefully they can bounce back and still make a run for the playoffs.

tdubs

cufan,
I agree with you. But to have 25 seniors and a lack of focus? It's the Otterbein game. There shouldn't be a lack of focus. The offensive game plan shouldn't really matter. Cap has better athletes. I doubt they can make the playoffs now unless they win out. There are still a lot of tough games ahead of them with the exception of this weeks game.

Hey, I forget -- did I ban doeder (ruttrow) from the board or did he just leave from his own accord?

Pat,
Believe it or not, Doeder left (and came back) on his own accord.

reality check

Jason Trusnik is picking up right where he left off last season.  Through two games he leads the Bears in tackles with 23.  He leads NCAA D-III in sacks (5.5) and TFL (12.5) through the first two games as well.  I also read that he is currently the second highest ranked D-III prospect this season behind Linfield's Elliott.

I know the season has a long way to go but he certainly isn't starting off in a hole.

ruttrow,
Do I have this right?  Carroll players spend the whole game last Saturday wearing contacts that caused too bright light and comet-effect?  That's the excuse?  Nobody considered possibly taking out the contacts when they couldn't see with them?  Maybe somebody ought to analyze the water supply in University Heights.

Other OAC notables in NCAA stats:
Ryan Lewis of BW is tied with Trusnik and an Oberlin player in solo sacks with 5 in 2 games.
Watson (MU) and Fanelli (JCU) are tied for first with interceptions per game.
Hostetler (ONU) was 2nd and Fanelli (JCU) 5th for avg punt return.
Casto (MUC) was 3rd in receiving yds per game and 4th
for receptions per game
Jorris (MUC) led the nation in passing efficiency.
