There are very few things in sports more enjoyable that watching Alabama lose.  Only thing better than watching Alabama get blasted by anybody is an OSU victory over them.

I imagine my perspective on D1 is how 99% of D3 thinks about watching Mount lose.

not me... I'm in awe of greatness.  Except for Alabama (I think its Saban).  I was with the traveling party of the Patriots this past weekend in Kansas City.  Got to hold the Lamar Hunt Trophy on the flight home.  Very cool.

I can't say I blame him.  He's graduating in May.  I'm not sure what his major is, but the only way I'd stick around is if JCU has a masters program in something beneficial to me.  As much as anyone loves their sport the cost of school these days makes playing a 5th year just for the sport a very pricey season.
For those with a Teaching degree. If a student has eligibility left and continues classes in Fall to get a teaching certificate, are they eligible for Football in the Fall? I believe I asked this before, however I cannot remember the answer.

I believe that as long as they have eligibility left and are enrolled as Full Time Students (12 Credit Hours Minimum) they can play.

Thanks Kira & Jaxons Dad.

Best to check with the Athletic Department at the school.  I'm not sure if D3 Schools have NCAA Compliance Officers, but that would be another office to verify.

The Matt Leinart rule applies here as well. If the student-athlete only needs a course or two to finish his or her degree, they can be eligible as a part-time student.

There's also legislation up for consideration at the convention this year to extend that eligibility to someone who has only, say, a teaching practicum or something like that left to complete. Even though that person may not be enrolled on campus in the traditional sense, they would still be considered eligible for intercollegiate athletics if this proposal passes.

Onward on, John Carroll

He's a Marketing major:

You need a Masters' Degree in marketing for absolutely nothing.  I thougth the only way he would come back -- not knowing his personal situation or major or anything else -- was if he needed another semester to graduate or he was in a field where an immediate masters' degree or additional schooling was advisable.  Fort example, if he were an accounting major and he needed to get that MBA (or, more accurately, an additional 30 hours) to sit for the CPA, I could see it.  Otherwise, hang up the cleats.  Best of luck to him.

Already mentioned that (i.e. his major) on my prior post.  Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinion also. I believe that probably most of us agree with your comments.  As I said in mine, which I do not doubt we all know and agree is that in these situations, everyone has to make their own decision based on a wide variety of reasons and which are specific to them.

Bro.

FWIW I didn't think Fulford was bad at all in the Stagg Bowl.  The worst play he made was the horns down thing which was a really weird flex.  Maybe somebody transfers to Mount Union who happens to play quarterback, but unless that person is Jalen Hurts (already spoken for), I'm pretty sure your coaching staff made clear their QB decision through the end of 2019 during the first couple of weeks of the 2017 tournament.

Since the board is fairly quiet, I offer up a quote I saw in a facility in Alliance:

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Maybe you've seen it before. I hadn't and thought it was really neat. 🍷
