Halftime score:  Buffalo Ell Ells 10  -  Penn State  7.

Sorry, the Mount Union game is basically unwatchable.  (Not blaming Mount; you can only play the teams who agree to give it a go.)

Wouldn't that be a great upset if Buffalo wins?  They are a pretty good MAC team.  However, a long entire second half to go, so we'll see if they can pull it off against Penn State.

Great start to the season for Heidelberg. A big 57-7 win at Adrian!

Results of the first week of the 2019 OAC Pick-Em contest have been posted.  Like the teams on the field, my spreads were not in mid-season form, although I did nail the MUC game and that's what keeps me here.

Kira & Jason's Dad led the way with 10 points on a day that only eight players got more than half the available points. NCF was alone in second one point back.

Spreads for week #2 will come out Monday night.

Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Answering my own speculation/question! No, that "ain't" (a Buffalo upset) happening! ::) ;D Early 4th quarter and Penn State way ahead, 34-13.

Things were going great until YOU chimed in.  Seems like a pretty clear "cause-and-effect" to me.

This doesn't have anything to do specifically with the OAC - except having Brockport or Ithaca as a possible playoff opponent - but this is just . . . . weird.

He was unsuccessful at transferring UP to D1 or even D2 so he transferred  DOWN to a lower-level D3 conference (E8 to LL) and will drop out of school after the fall semester?

He and Antonio Brown must have gone to different schools together. . . .

That's odd.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Oops! :-[ Sorry, seriously.  Hey, I was rooting for Buffalo.  I have rooted for them for the past several years.  IMO, a pretty neat story as to how the program has progressed over the past 1-2 decades.  Some good assistant coaches there have gone on to DIII positions.

I hate the 4-3. WR were open for the Engineers and a better QB would have hit them. Mount did not get any pressure on QB - no sacks from starters (when was the last time that happened). The new DBs did ok but couldn't lock up coverage to give the LBs and DL time to pressure. Alot of TFLs but the D didn't seem as fast or dominant to me. What is reason for 4-3 again?

The O had me worried in 1st QTR. Fulford either went to JHill or a check down. No attempts to another WR, he wasn't even looking at them. Changed on the TD drive in late 2nd when he spread it around a bit. The worst part?? The guys calling the game. Yes, Mount is good, has a history, has some guys that went to NFL BUT -
No - Mount has never had an OL drafted in first round
No - Mount has never, that i know of, guys who chose Mount over scholarships from D1 schools (maybe Campbell 20 years ago)
No - Mount doesnt have D1 guys who transfer and play right away - most sit a year or 2.

How many D3 Schools have had ANY players drafted in the first round?
Most kids will chose a scholarship over going into debt for 20 years.
Very FEW D1 players transfer to any D3 School.  Most are going FCS, DII or Juco.

RELAX, they won 66-14.  RHIT had only 59 yards passing.  Mount did give up two big plays on D that accounted for most of RHIT's offensive yards (60 yd pass and 68 yd run).

OK Braxton PLunk, do we have our QBof the future? I noticed on the freshman roster he was one of the few guys that been assigned a number. Looks like he played well against a poor team. Anyone have some insight? OK what's with two freshman QB's with the first name Braxton? Is that part of a new Raider requiremint? ;D

Was just coming here to post this! Plunk will be a very nice QB of the future. I really like that the coaches let him throw too. He needs that kind of experience rather than just hanging the ball off every play. He throws guys open!! IMO, that is rare at the D3 level bc many guys wait until their received is open to throw. He's mobile enough, but his arm is a plus. I'm excited for his future, but hope he doesn't have to play this year too much.

Running game looked very strong, but like mentioned before Fulford only really threw to Hill. Need to go through options better. Reed, Harvey, Weygandt and Ruby are great receivers use them. Petro was fresh and ran very well. I've been waiting to see Garcia come out and he showed that he's a good 2nd option and the freshman Parker showed his athleticism (didn't expect that much for game 1).

I was excited to see us go back to a 4-3 defense (imo this helped us win championship in 2015 against the big boys St Thomas, Whitewater, JCU etc), but it didn't look perfect yet and that's ok. They need time. Kappas is in first year calling defense in awhile with quite a few be starters. Our schedule is so front loaded with BW and JCU, the next best teams in the oac, that they need to be ready to play in all aspects.

PS, I appreciate the announcers trying, but I had to mute them after about 10 minutes. They were almost worshipping Mount Union and conceding the game after the first drive.
