Wheaton OL #61, in at FB, pounds the ball into the end zone to bring the score to 34-33 St. John's.

61 then spikes the ball, 15 yard penalty, XPT attempt from the 25.

Miss XPT but offsetting penalties.

Miss second attempt.

St Johns recovers onside kick. St Johns wins 34-33

I think I'd like to see Wheaton take it all.

This can't be the North Central team we saw last week.

Del Valley has a much better dline than Mount, which is the key to beating NCC, like Wheaton proved.
I think it further shows this was just a sub-par UMU defense.

And a poor gameplan. Mount should have definitely loaded up on the line and relied on pressuring Rutter rather than dropping extra into coverage but still leaving holes to be found.

I feel like the most disappointing part is all of us on the board had the same idea, and the Raiders went down without throwing their best punch...

I wasn't overly surprised by their defensive approach in the 1st half.   But once it didn't obviously work, I was shocked that VK didn't resort to his previous approach to just blitz the crap out of the opponent if all else fails.  Was really expecting to see them rushing 6 or 7 to start the 3rd quarter.

Oh well.  About time we got to experience what if feels like to follow a normal team.  25 years of December playoff runs kind of spoils you.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Question for Mount fans. You have your first open first Saturday of December in many, many years. How are you going to spend it? You may not get this again for a long time, so make the most of it!  8-)

I'm on to hoops full time.  I'll be watching Mount hosting ONU at 2.  When that ends I'll watch the women since their game at ONU starts at 3.

Dr.,
Just because your the loses on the playoffs, you abandon the remaining DIII football season? Thought you were a true die-hard DIII fb fan- I'm disappointed!🙂

I wouldn't say abandon.  It's just downgraded in priority.  I'm a Mount fan first so I might watch football if I have time, but come 2:00 it's Mount hoops.  The absence of Mount in the playoffs just changes things from planning my schedule around football to watching it if my schedule allows.
That: okay, Dr.! Makes sense.! Best wishes to you for a Merry Christmas!

UMHB is what I thought they were... Very athletic, but Coach Fred gets in his teams own way when it matters. They still have the athletes and will be back again. I didn't get to watch much of any games but was checking on scores during the games. The semifinal games should be entertaining and I'm looking forward to them. I think St John's can get UWW, but anxiously that's easier said than done. I have SJU 24-21. Muhlenburg plays great defense, so I'm interested to see what they do to stop the NCC offense. I say NCC wins 27-17.

Already looking at potential players for next season, Maurice Morris tweeted that he plans on transferring to Mount Union with 3 years to play. He was a teammate of backup qb, Braxton Plunk. Looks like a solid athlete, but you never know. Still interested to know what happened with the Foley kid that transferred from the D2 school last year.

I'm glad you guys got knocked out early.... you finally ran into a quality team in the 2nd round. Now you know how it feels when Linfield goes up against UMHB or Whitewater... you guys are sandbaggers...  :-* How's MUC57 doing? Love All! Next Year!  :-* Maybe you'll play Linfield in the first round and we'll knock you out! BAMM!  :o

I feel like I follow all of my teams similarly. Fully vested and willing to watch games and scores from all over so long as my team is still in it, if for nothing else but to put eyes on a team they might play. Once they are out, their entire league moves to my periphery.

This year's UMHB class will not be the first group of players to go 59-1 or better over four years (regardless of views on the 2016 season), which was really the last thing I was actively watching to see. No one has managed to pull that off. Mount has some 55-1 runs when there were only 16 teams in the tournament, and some 58-2 runs, now (UWW has one of those, too), but none have bested that record, yet.

It worked out nicely yesterday.  I watched OSU hoops then Mount. I still caught the 4th qtr of the Wheaton game thanks to Mount beating ONU by 21 allowing me to bail early on hoops.  That was the only playoff game I wanted to watch (although NCC didn't coast by Del Val as easily as I thought they would).  I figured UWW/UMHB would be a good game too, but you'd have to pay me to watch that UMHB offense if I don't have a rooting interest in the game.

Happy Army-Navy week... Since it's the first time in a long, long time that you Mount fans will not have a game conflicting with this game, I hope you all can enjoy this game at least.. Go Army! Sink Navy!

Hey, now!  My late father was navy during WWII.  Since you generally add "go everybody", can you at least stay neutral on this game and wish both teams well? ;D

Mr. Ypsi

When I was in the Air Force, I served in Air Force Intelligence at The Pentagon. It was, militarily, a joint operation, headed up by the AF. My immediate superior was a Navy Commander. I worked with members from the other branches as well.
I have the greatest respect for all of our military.
I'll say, Go Military! I say Go Army for my friend JCUStreaks70.
Whew! No offense intended. 🇺🇸 ⚓️
