Sadly, I saw this.... Looks like I'll need to find the best way to stream this to my TV.

At least they're waiving the normal $10 charge to stream football.  I watch all the football games via streaming.  It's gotten pretty good over the years.  Not Wabash level good, but pretty good.

I just watched the Track and Field OAC meet yesterday via boxcast (Mounts preferred streaming site) on my tv and it was good quality video. I'm just excited to watch some meaningful sports. Hopefully, we'll all be able to gather in the Gulling lot come September!

I'm in Milwaukee, WI and I remember having caught a couple of Cleveland Cavalier hoops games when he was announcing for them back in the day--it was always on those clear nights when it seemed like radio feeds would be available from all over-- apparently (per Wikipedia) he was still with them during their real lean years back in the early 1980's (someone once said in '81 'The Cavs don't have a first round draft choice until 1987-so if you know any good HS Sophomores-let them know) --long before their new arena and LeBron & Co.

Joe Tait passed away.

Sad news.  I know a lot of people in my age group, myself included, wouldn't be the Cavs fans we are today if not for growing up listening to Joe call those Price/Daugherty/Nance teams.  Before I was old enough to have a TV in my bedroom I'd lay in bed listening to the Cavs games on my clock radio so Joe was the Cavs to me as a kid.  I'm very glad he was because he was the best.  RIP Joe.

Good story. Great memory for you.
I'm not a big hoops fan so my recollections of Joe are doing Mount Union football games. He and my friend Harry Paidas were a great team. Joe was so well liked, he was the main reason the elevator was installed in the press box because he was having trouble climbing the stairs. One of the rooms is named after him.
I only got to talk to him once, briefly, but that will stay with me for as long as I have in this life.
Rest in eternal peace Joe Tait! 🏀 🏈 🎙 ✝

Happy game day everyone!
I'm sure when you all said Mount was going to have a longer off season than usual, this is not what you meant!

Looking at the 2 deep Mount is starting 3 freshmen OL tonight.  I wonder when was the last time that happened?  Let the Braxton Plunk era begin!

Go Raiders.
Beat the Muskies.
Block that kick.
Cis boom bah.
Make that point.

Yeah, I'm fired up, he said, with more than a little bit of sarcasm.

Hmmm...  Who be this Manley dude?  Been too long to remember back to 2019, and too lazy to pull up stats.
Roster check says a 5'9" senior from Columbus Hartley.

O.K. ... 2019:  12 games; 5 catches; 61 yards.

Nice to see him easily eclipse that in the first half tonight ... with two TDs.

But it is Musky.

Wish this broadcast had replay capability.  But, oh well.

Early in the 1st Quarter, when they apologized for the sponsor graphic that was blocking the view of the game, it included a "Jeff Drennan Dealerships" logo.  Jeff was in my class at Sebring McKinley, a QB, who at that time, as I understand, led the Trojans to their most points ever, in a game ever, against Lisbon, and on Homecoming. (I was an exchange student in Japan at the time, but my Dad sent me newspaper articles).  I think that he involved himself in some semi-pro football activities, but never at the collegiate level.  joelmama, on these boards, likely washed his jock strap.

Nice "infomercial" at halftime regarding the new athletic complex under construction.  Having a family member that went there (for a year), it will be a nice upgrade.

Always nice to "hear" from you. Hope you are doing well.
I also told pilots where to go, in a manner of speaking, but from a desk, not from the plane.

MUC 57 ... You old, OLD, Dog, you!
I owe you  a Hood burger and a beer next time back home.  Not often, though, but I promise.
I may have indicated in a previous (years ago) post that I was a RC-135 (reconnaissance ... "Rivet Joint" ) navigator.
I was flying in the Med when the Soviets shot down KAL-007, and flying in the Sea of Japan when El Dorado Canyon (Libya) happened.  Fewer lettuce leaves on my ribbons, I guess.
How does this relate to Mount Union Football, you may ask?  I used to have to go to the library (2-3 days later, overseas) to check the newspapers for football scores.  When overseas, my late Father (a MUC employee and incredible fan, but died before any MUC football national championships; talked so highly of so many MUC athletes doing the work grant program in facilities maintenance) would send me sports page clippings.
