Westminster could have had local HS kids run the live stats and there's no way it could have be done worse than it was.  What a disaster.  Lenny needs to send one of his assistants over for a beginner press box ops tutorial.

I wondered why I couldn't find stats on today's game.  I did think the TV broadcast was quality from good viewing to good broadcasters announcing the game.

As for Mount, the offense looked like it picked up where it left off last spring and vs a quality defense.  I liked the run game,  routes with options,  middle screens,  etc. The thing that makes me happiest (not that it matters...lol) is seeing the defense improve... defensive linemen getting pressure,  linebackers making tackles in space,  corners looked good. This is not the defense that lost to NCC.... looking forward to continued improvement! Major props to Coach Dartt, Coach Ely and staff on the improvement so far.  Go Ders!

Was just looking at the JCU box score...13 penalties?!?! What happened?

I think I saw the second best passing attack in the OAC at the Mount Union v.W&J  JV game yesterday. Wow was No.8 at QB good. Is the Beaudrie? Very accurate, strong arm, and a very effective runner. Mount scored on their first five possessions. Very impressed with the receiver corps too. A lot of talent, speed and good hands.

If he had curly red hair, then it was probably him:  https://athletics.mountunion.edu/sports/football/roster/noah-beaudrie/8712

Week 1 in the books - and it was great just having football back! Sorry but the spring "season" was like taking your sister to the prom - sure you got to go, but....

The Raiders looked good - and also sloppy and undisciplined. Offense is at time lethal yet also somewhat lethargic. To be honest, the more I see of Petro the less impressed I become. He will break one for 20, or 25 every now and again - but has far to many "nothings" (seems to trip an awful lot). He has started to remind me of Germany Woods in terms of vision and getting through the gap (like he has lost a step and doesn't see the hole like he did). Regardless, WR depth is good and Plunk throws a nice ball. The Defense looks much better (good pursuit, solid tackling, good coverage) - the run defense was reminiscent of past Raider teams. However, the cheap stuff (unsportsmanlike conduct, the fight, etc. - no time for that. If I wanted to watch cheap shot ball I would watch BW play. Duke Hill needs to A) keep the helmet on, B) keep his head, and C) remember who he plays for and what that represents. Sorry but playing a great game and making great plays is all undone by 30 seconds of selfish stupidity - and now you get to sit down against BW. Kid is a great player - needs to get smart. Quick.

My .02 cents. Roll Raiders ~ Roll!

Almost forgot - shout out to WRMU on the game call. I listened to it via the phone call-in line. I like listening to the students call these games - always good to hear "the (insert team here) need to get something going before this gets out of hand" when the Raiders are already up 35-7 at the beginning of the 3rd. Regardless, WRMU did a good job (always do) even though others apparently had issues. Nice job guys - though I still miss Noah Hile on the call.

Random but am I incorrect in thinking that Mitch O'Hara was playing this fall?  Or maybe he was just eligible to play, but didn't because he graduated?  I don't know why I thought he was.  He's not on the roster so clearly he's not.  I think I read before he was going to go to medical school so obviously that would be the highest priority if that's the case.

Nice win for the Muskies yesterday 33-31 over ONU.  After ONU beat Denison handily I thought maybe they would make some noise this year.  Maybe the Fish are better this year.  They blew out Waynesburg week 1.

Also Ott lost 41-10 to BW.  The current state of the Columbus-area OAC teams is not good.  For them or the conference.  Cap's issues are well known and longstanding, but Ott is really starting to struggle consistently.

Hey Pat ...
Why is the Louisiana College - Abilene Christian score on your D3 Scoreboard?

Thanks for catching that. We had not removed Louisiana College from the source file for the scoreboard when they left D-III after this spring.

After Saturday in Athens I believe if you brought Mt. Union down there to play you would have a good chance of a D3 school defeating a FBS school. Duquesne doesn't have one player who could start for Mt. and they dominated Ohio.

Boals is back in town.  OU is a basketball school now!  Seriously though, they're probably going to be 0-4 heading into Akron.  If they start 0-5 there are major issues in Athens.
