Looks like the OAC will only be getting one team into the tournament this year...BW...😬😬😬...Really hope Mount ends up with a 1 seed, but the offense doesn't even look as good as they did in the spring.  Plunk is off and seems to be throwing on the run too much or not stepping into his throws when he can. I believe this team can put it together for a run all the way,  but D3 football is getting more parity each year and there are more teams that have a chance.

I agree, it seems like Mount has regressed since the spring which seems odd considering they didn't lose any key starters IIRC. Either that or the OAC is just really good this year.

And now UMU is fighting for the last 1 seed with SJU. Bethel had them and gave up a TD with 1 second!

Or collectively down... Time will tell. Unfortunately, I think it's the former.

Plunk seems to be floating or overthrowing a lot of throws all year, especially to the sidelines. I am not sure what to make of it other than he is not even giving his guys a chance to make those plays. Makes me wonder if he was instructed to emphasize "your guy or no guy."

I think that bumps UMHB down to a 2 seed.  Their SOS and lack of RRO will be night and day vs the other 1 seeds

Given SJU's SoS and semi-final run last year, I think they get a 1. The toss-up might be UMHB or UMU, and that's a much closer conversation that I think is going to get based on where Westminster, JCU, BW, and Heidelberg end up ranked. If Mount ends up with 4 RRO wins, plus an SoS edge, it's the Raiders. If the rankings fall apart on them, it might end up being UMHB.

Stagg Again!!

It's getting to be that time where we can think playoffs with the OAC clinched.  If BW beats JCU (rivalry game), are they in? The top seeds have to be NCC, UMHB, UWW and Mount  Union.  I can't wait to see the matchups that this post season creates.  St John's,  Wheaton, Linfield,  Hardin Simmons, UW LaCrosse and Johns Hopkins are all tough in my mind.

If St. John's finishes undefeated, wouldn't they earn the #1 seed over UMHB based on advancing further in the 2019 playoffs?

First, Congrats to Mount on yet another fantastic season.  Looking forward to seeing how the brackets play out today as always.  Perhaps we will have another chance to see Mount v. NCC (but at the BW in Naperville this time!!)... the last two games were ESPN Classics. As to your question Bleed, St. John's could also easily end up as the #2 seed in Mount's quad, but NCAA could easily move them into another quad given the distance from Collegeville to Alliance.  Fun to speculate, but we will all find out what the NCAA thinks this afternoon.  Best of luck to the Raiders.  Let the games begin!!

The D3.com team has said it's almost impossible to construct a bracket with St. John's as a 1 seed along with NCC, UWW and UM due to geography and flight limitations. So they went with UMHB.

Congratulations to Coach Dartt and the Raiders for an undefeated season, and OAC Championship.
It is a rare and wonderful accomplishment.
Thanks to Pat and his crew at D3Football for all the hard work.
I'm sure if you ask for funds they will be forthcoming, but we know this isn't about the money but for love of the sport.

So if Mount Union and WWW meet in the semi finals...does Mount host because they were last to win a Stagg Bowl?

edward de vere

They can't meet in the semi-finals, only the finals.  (And Mount Union would definitely be "hosting" that game.)

UWW is opposite Mount Union, so they would not meet until the Stagg Bowl. Also, because of most recent playoff results, UWW will host all the way to Canton (St. John's would travel to Wisconsin).

Mount Union would travel to NCC if the Raiders make it that far.

To edward de vere's point, though, if Mount Union makes it that far, UWW would technically be the "home" team, but the closest D3 school to Canton is Mount Union.

OR if NCC makes it that far. The Cardinals have a pretty tough second round date with Lacrosse

Boy the comments on the d3fb homepage about the bracket crack me up. It's understandable though, a lot of folks don't quite grasp the scale of D3 and the fact that this tournament's philosophy is about accessibility and a clear path to the playoffs rather than getting  the best 32 teams in.
