Caught the last few minutes of BW's victory on ONN. If Toph or any other JCU fan is around, can they tell me about JCU's center. The guy looks like he has a beach ball under his shirt. :D

What  a wonderful evening of chating and rain watching at Mount Union.  Guess we'll try again tomorrow.

On the bright side, got to watch OSU stomp Iowa.  ;D

With the delays tonight, and more free time on my hands, here's the final breakdown of the picks;

ONU over OTTERBEIN at 80/20
CAPITAL over MARIETTA at 83/17
MUSKINGUM over WILMINGTON 59/41
JCU and BW are an even 50/50
MUC over HEIDELBERG at 90/10
WOOSTER over WITTENBERG at 62/38
WHITEWATER over EAU CLAIRE 55/45

As for the postponed games, the picks are due at noon on saturday, so it's too late to change any picks.  Which will probably cost me the MUC/Berg game as I picked Berg because of the terrible weather forecast for Saturday night.  But now that the game is to be played on Sunday in good weather, my Berg pick isn't too smart.  But that's the breaks..........

After watching the BW-JC game, it became apparent that Regis collects beach balls .

Just a couple observations from the CU-Marietta game yesterday.  First off, no comparison between Vrable and Pentello, that conversation can stop now.  Vrable is a good OAC quarterback but not of the quality of Pentello.  His numbers appear to be more a product of his attempts, despite what his Dad thinks (I'll get to that later).  Granted, 338 is good for anyone, especially against a defense as good as Cap's (I'll get to that later too) and he did suffer from a few drops, but his arm strength and accuracy are average at best.  He rarely threw the ball beyond 15 yards and when he did, the quality of throw was average at best.  He is a good runner, he is elusive in the pocket, but he only scrambles left.  Capital did help his cause, rarely blitzing and playing in their BASE defense the entire game.  Despite numerous five receiver sets and absolutely NO running game, CU played NO nickel.  CU could be vulnerable to good passing teams with WR vs. LB matchups all day.  As for Vrable's Dad, he screamed "quit padding his stats"  about Pentello when he threw a 10 yard pass on 2nd and 9 with 8:00 minutes to go in the fourth.  Are you kidding me.....his son plays the entire game for 4 games and throws over 50 times a game and he has the nerve to talk about stat padding.  Before yesterday, Pentello played the fourth quarter exactly 0 times this season.  Most times he has had 1 drive in the third.......................padding his stats, get a life Mr. Vrable.  If I would have been the CU coach and heard that, I would have thrown every down the rest of the game.  The only thing he could have possibly of been worrying about was personal glory.......and we all know stats mean nothing in the OAC......All that matters is how many times you beat MOUNT.

If I'm not mistaken, you're talking about Ben Rulli, 6-3 350.  Affectionately known as Cheese by most.

Even with JCU struggling I feel like I have to take this cheap shot:  Last night's weather delay is the closest thing to a win over Mount (or anyone for that matter) Heidelberg has had in awhile.

Just curious...
Did the Heidi team make the return trip to Tiffin last evening (about 3 hours/130 miles according to MapQuest) in order to turn around and travel to Alliance again this morning, or do they travel for night games with a contingency plan for an RON?  Could be expensive for hotel rooms at the last minute, but there is the physical toll that the extra bus rides takes on the players.
If they made the return trip to Tiffin last evening, and back to Alliance this morning, I am willing to guess that the "best" Heidi team will not be on the field today. (I say that somewhat jokingly too.)

I'm wondering the same thing as Billy.  Did the Berg stay in Alliance last night or travel back to Tiffin?  I hope they stayed nearby overnight.  MTU could have put them up on cots in the field house and piped in positive subliminal music all night to help prepare them for the rout.

Ha-ha-ha, runyr!

I suggest a contingency plan, like the good old days, with a "home stay" program.    There are enough loving, older MUC fans who would love to be a part of that.  The 'Berg center would be hosted by the one who is famous for "Grandma's baked beans" at all the family reunions, and Granddad's homemade sour mash and the linebackers might pair up nicely.  Just curious who Ric would host?  The cheerleaders??

Billy, great idea.

Radio just said the 'Berg went BACK to Tiffin last night and returned this morning!  Too bad.
