Loss to Muskingum

The inability to put away mediocre teams like this has been the trend of the Dartt era. I'm guessing another 2nd round playoff exit is likely.

That first rd bye isn't a given at this point.  Being outhit, outcoached, outplayed by...Muskingum??

I'm sure the arms are crossed and that gum is getting chewed super hard debating on whether to open up the super secret quarterfinals playbook or not

Mount Union looks more than ready to take a seat next to Augustana.

Luckily the playoff seeds are tied to NPI and not a committee.

Raiders scored too quickly. Muskies about to put together another drive.

Sorry to say it - but the SiL has completely wrecked Mount. I dont care how bad it sounds - he needs to be fired. Mount isnt winning games - they are not losing them. They have outplayed and outcoached by four teams this season (JCU, Otterbein,  Marietta, Muskingam). He is still running the same 10 plays on repeat and the team is not executing - going through the motions. On D - sorry but Ely needs to go to. The DBs are awful. We havent had a DB that could turn their head in coverage since....Lou Berry. They are not developing. And he is being infected with a vanilla scheme from sitting in meetings with SiL. Its like Mount went from "the Standard is the Standard" to "Ok, thats good enough".

At this point in the game, Mount's defense couldn't stop a runny nose with a handful of Kleenex.

Tony Cook and Kaleb Brown not being out there on defense is a bit concerning as well

Echeverry:  Been a while since we saw a Mount Union RB do an "Al Bundy" ... scored four touchdowns in one game!

MUC 2008

LK planted it.

VK tilled it.

Dartt killed it.

Looks like we getting only 1 OAC playoff team, what are JCU's odds with a win today?

Slim.  Likely one of the first teams left out

JCU blowing out Marietta wasn't on my Bingo card.

I left the house when it was 14-0 and just was able to check the box score.  I wish I could come on here and say "WTF?!" but at this point I'm not even surprised.  Long, long gone are the days a Mount team with a backup QB would have had that game put to bed at the half.  The seemingly weekly texts I get drawing parallels between Dartt and Ryan Day are not flattering in nature.

Now that the regular season is over do we all agree that the BW game was actually the most surprising game?  I never thought in my life the Ott game wouldn't be it, but that was more representative of their play this year than the BW game.

I have seen the same three or four plays gash the Mount Defense all season. Musky scouts obviously caught on.  Are fans that spoiled that 10-0 is a disappointment? Seems so. I don't see the confident strut from the Mount team that we have been used to. We are being attacked and beaten down in a way that is not typical of Mount Union. But we have found ways to win. Kudos to DeShields for hanging in the pocket and delivering some fine throws. For not having played, he is doing,IMO, a really good job. I look to the playoffs with some reservation.

Get tickets for the first game - I dont think there will be a second.

JCU playing the best ball in the OAC at the end of the season.  Defense is strong and the O with the three D1 playmakers on offense making defenses look like D3 players
