Quote from: raiderpa on November 26, 2024, 09:03:09 AMFYI The brunch is $10...I was interested to see the data on playoff attendance, thanks.  The Ohio State-Michigan game kicking off at the same time will have a bearing on the crowd as well. I have talked to a number of folks who are staying home for that BIG 10 (16) game...I will be interested to see the predictions from the D3 staff as they are always fair and usually spot on...

Where are the details about the brunch? I've wanted to attend but can never find any information regarding time, cost etc.

Brunch is 10 bucks, opens at 10AM, closes at noon.

Looking at the All-OAC release and had a couple thoughts.  Can we just have separate special awards for QB and RB instead of doing co-winners for a QB and RB to share the Bob Packard award?  If we give an award to the best WR I think we can split apart the offensive back award.

With Mount's only special award recipient being Echeverry it got me curious about when was the last time Mount only had one special award winner.  The answer was 2016 (Brooks Jenkins).  2017 was the last year they did not have any defensive players win special awards.  Rossy was probably the best chance, but Knight had a really good season and deserved the award so no complaints there.

Dartt as the OAC Coach of the Year.  That resume is getting a little too good to be able to keep him around at Mount for much longer

D3fanboy

With the OAC Awards out, which I'm sure Mount players feel slighted by, the "national media" basically calling Saturday's game a toss up and Mount being picked as the "biggest disappointment"...there is zero chance that the Raiders come out with no energy right?

I don't have multiple conference coach of the year awards, a 94% win % or in high demand as a coordinator, but I'm pretty sure that even I could get the boys going this week.  Bad Saturday to be a piece of gum

Nobody has been more down on this group day after day after day after day than you....and you're salty that somebody in the ATN column said this might not be Mount Union's year?  Pick a lane.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.  But I was just saying that there is a lot of ammo for the "Mount against the World" messaging

I'm all good.  I picked Mount Union to win their region if you read the entire piece.

The single most abundant source of Purple Raider bulletin board material in 2024 has been you.  There's not an aggregation of content from media or any other place that has dumped on 2024 Mount Union the way you have or to the degree you have here this fall.  It's not UMU vs. the World.  It's UMU vs. UMU.

This is a very true statement! However, if the D3 national media agrees with the Mount Union fan base that this isn't a national championship team it's all bulletin board material inside the Raider's locker room.

While we're talking about bulletin board material for Mount Union...

Here's a video/audio breakdown of my advanced stats preview for the game! Which my model thinks should only be a (gasp) half point spread in Mount Union's favor.
DIII Football Advanced Stats Preview - NCAA Playoffs Round 2 | Mount Union vs. John Carroll

I go over this in the video, but the spread is as close as it is because more recent games matter more in my model than in other models (like Massey or Bill Connelly's SP+, which have this as a 10-ish point spread in Mount's favor). And I don't think it's very controversial to say Mount's last game was not a good one.

I see the predictions and as much as it pains me to say - I think the streaks get this one. I dont know why - we never know why - but I have a score of 41-17 rolling in my head. It was there when I woke up this morning and whenever it pops back in my head I feel somewhat depressed and disappointed. I think it is a premonition. We will see soon enough.
In the other game - Michigan does it again in a HUGE upset!
Now, one of these games I wont mind being wrong about. "The autumnwinter wind is a Raider!"

Clear and 25 degrees at gametime tomorrow...bundle up...turnovers and QB pressure will be the key...

42-24 mount, this is the score that has hit me all week while thinking of this game. I think with 2 weeks to prepare for a know opponent, they get it done and move on.

Greetings & salutations to all the Mount, OAC & D3 brethren.  For the 2nd year in a row I will not be at the traditional Skunk clan playoff game.  I miss my people & the many years of attending that game.

As for tomorrow, a little birdie has whispered that it might be another 2nd round exit for the Purple Raiders.  I will be watching from here in Raleigh on my couch & hoping for a Mount victory.
