Awesome display by the Raider rushing game, and the depth with Barge coming up is just phenominal! The fact that they handled ONU as well as they did wasnt so surprising to me as it was the fact that it was a relentless rushing attack and relatively silent passing attack. Will give ONU credit their secondary jammed the passing lanes fairly well and a great show of sportsmanship kneeling when a few players had injuries on both teams, something I think should have been a little more noticeable on the other sideline. I anticipated Wray to be a major factor in this game, I hope his injury was nothing major, but nice to know as well there are others ready to step up! Special teams also gets Major Kudos the block punt and creating a fumble on a kickoff return set the tempo. The D speed and pursuit was ravenous pretty much from the get go, but some rediculous penalties did overshadow an otherwise excellent performance!

I think it should be a mandatory requirement if Mount Union wins another Stagg Bowl that the NCAA or D3 football rules makers have to adjust the rules to start levelling the playing field because they aren't even playing competitive games anymore ... it's pretty embarrassing!

Not much more to add to what has been posted.  That TO thing jumped up and grabbed ONu today.  Not being able to run the ball really hurt ONU today as well.  RC was right ONU does not play  well when  they are  down by more than two scores.

Are you not familair with what a playahater is?  Your first paragraph sounds pretty hater-ish to me.  The more embarassing thing is that you think they just started beating good teams by big scores.  Do your homework.  Nothing's changed recently with Mount Union.  They won games big in 1997 and they win big in 2006.  At least we got a conference loss pinned on them last year for a change.  Anyone that has any understanding of the situation (ie. not people like yourself) knows better than to suggest they need to move up a division.  MUC's other athletic teams are mediocre at best and unless you think it's better to displace and embarass the rest of the athletic department so Mount can play a higher division in football, then drop it already.  They're not going anywhere.  We need to get better.

Toph - Not only did they take Trunsik out of the game but made sure Meadows was not a threat.

Both teams played a lackluster first half...Mount with too many penalties and ONU with too many turnovers.

I believe that there is not one D-back in D3 that can cover Garcon one on one.

Some obsevations from today's game.

1) Knic's last TD run was one of the finest I've see. Took 2  hard shots at the line, bounced off and scampered down the left sideline.

2)Gunter did a nice job on Garcon before getting hurt. The ONU secondary w/o Gunter played very well the remainder of the game.

3) This game as most was won in the trenches. Mount dominated on both sides. As mentioned earlier Trusnick was double teamed most of the game but nobody stepped up for ONU.

4)ONU had a terrible time picking up the blitz.

Like all ONU - Mount games, this was very physical. ONU simply cannot afford turnovers in a game like this and the Raiders better get the penalty issues addressed before it come back to bite them.

What would you have the NCAA do, make MUC fire Kehres? That's your only hope.

Mount Union is good because it has built things up over the past 15 years of hard work, not because of some unfair advantage.

I agee about which b'cast to listen to (knowledge of the rules of fb ought to be a prerequisite to broadcast), but I can't link to the Cap b'cast.  Can't even get it to work going direct to cap site.
