Quote from: purple on December 29, 2024, 12:56:48 PMGreat Bowl season for Purple Raiders. Vince and Jason win a six overtime game against Pittsburgh and Matt Campbell's guys beat the mighty Hurricanes.
Yes! ... Wish I could have seen the first game, but certainly adored the second.
Really proud of the showing of these "Purple Raider coached" teams.
Watching another right now (Nick Sirianni's Eagles).

Not sure the game announcers could pronounce "Heacock" correctly in the Iowa State Pop Tarts Bowl.  Growing up in nearby Sebring, it was always "HAY-cock" vice the game announcer's "HEE-cock."
Sorry ... Just little things that annoy old curmudgeons like me ... LOL!

I'll join your ranks. Last week I grew tired very quickly of the ESPN crew saying "John" Hopkins and coach Daryl "Early." Lot of preparation and care from the Worldwide Leader in hype.

If anyone is as weirdly curious as me I looked up the origin of the name. I always thought it was two last names like a guy named Johns and a guy named Hopkins but no, the school is named after just one dude with the name Johns Hopkins. Apparently Johns was his mother's maiden name or something so that's what he was named after. Now you know!

You know I used to hang out with Johnny Hopkins and Sloan Kettering.

I wonder why that game didn't have the yellow line and LOS overlay? I know past Stagg Bowls have had them, the 2023 game did for sure.

storms on a grass soccer field, sounds wonderful.  I'm pretty sure that the last Mount Union football game on grass was in '16 at NC Wesleyan.  I'd bet NCC hasn't played on grass in quite a while either.  Should be...interesting

D3fanboy

watching the UM-Bama game, played on an NFL grass field (not a soccer pitch) in the rain, and as one team slips and slides around (Bama) and the other seems to have solid footing (UM) it makes you wonder how the D3 teams will handle a) grass b) wet grass c) absolute slop of a field?

Mount players need those Tennessee 3/4" cleat-gate soccer cleats for the game  ;D

I think Bama will pull ahead on this game but I hope it shuts up some of the Bama should be in the playoff folks

So when do we see Herbstreet go on a 5 minute rant retracting his previous crap about Indiana and SMU not being worthy?

That Bama team deserved exactly what they received.  Don't lose to Vanderbilt and piss down your leg against a bad Oklahoma team if you want in the playoff.  The fact that they got dominated by Michigan with both of their stud DT's opting out is even more telling.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I agree I bet TSUN on the money line 6:1 and after collecting I felt like I needed to take a long hot shower to wash off the funk.

As a Michigan fan nothing gives me greater joy than being a thorn in THE side. But I get it, OSU just wants to win. They want to be victorious. They want to be celebrated for being victorious and praised as champions. Thats right folks, THE Buckeyes want to be-

Just looking at the National Champion bracket, I see Ohio State plays Texas and Penn State gets the winner of Notre Dame and Georgia.
One thing I don't see is the corn and blue on the bracket.
Just remembered that TSUN didn't make it this year.  That must mean they will be WATCHING the games from their La-Z-Boys in the comfort of their basements dreaming of what would have, could have, or should have happened this season.
Hopefully they didn't eat all of the cookie they got for beating the Buckeyes so they can split it into 3 parts and enjoy a piece while watching the 3 remaining games knowing that they are not one of the teams left.
No matter who wins, it won't be TSUN.
Their invitation to the big dance must have gotten lost in the mail.

And yet - 1 and 0 against OH this year. Buckeye people are funny. When they beat Michigan (finally) after years of disappointment (i.e. John Cooper) then "its the greatest victory ever". They win it a few times and suddenly "its not a rivalry since we own you". Now they cant buy a win for $20 million and "it doesnt even matter since we are in the playoffs". Ok keep telling yourself that. Except the footage of your loyal bucknuts booing your beloved scarlet and gray the entire 2nd half at the shoe as you fail to beat a rather sad UM team (we had a bad year) will live on in the ears of the internet forever and tells a different story. Cheers! And as always - Roll Raiders ~ Roll!
