Quote from: raiderfan288 on January 13, 2025, 07:10:35 PMI had a question about eligibility and some of the redshirt rules these days. As an example the following is listed for Tyler Echeverry:

2024 - This season

2023: All-OAC Second Team... Ran for 602 yards and 11 touchdowns (career-highs)... Averaged 6.4 yards per carry... Posted a career-high 114 rushing yards against Baldwin Wallace.

2022: Played in 14 games, including a start in the 2022 Stagg Bowl... Ran for 417 yards off 81 attempts and two touchdowns (all career-highs)... His 85-yard run against Utica in the NCAA Playoffs ranked fifth-longest in program history... Posted first career 100-yard game against Utica.

2021: Played in two games in first year.

Given the player only plays in two games (under the 4 game max) his first year, does that automatically qualify him for a redshirt and could come back for another year? Not sure he would even have a desire to in this scenario, however I am just curious on the eligibility rules these days.

If my memory is correct, the four game rule didn't count for D3.  It may have changed with all the craziness recently.

1100 yards 8 TD in 10 games this year.

9-130 vs Mount
9-120 vs JCU

Is the OAC transfer rule out the window since Muskie's coach left?  Or does that not matter with the transfer portal?

I believe you are correct with transfer portal new rules.

Might as well make the OAC a minor leagues for Mount then...

This group mentioned above and the underclassmen that were freshmen last year are the reason I'm not concerned about this position. There will be speed galore and guys that can make tough catches. Now, are they all willing to play their role in the offense (whatever that ends up being) bc I doubt any of them will get 1000 yards. Maybe 500-700 yards each depending on if they develop a tight connection with the new QB or get hot.

My understanding is that Maloney was the #2 behind Beaudrie when the season started, and his injury elevated DeShields.  DeShields, IMO, saved the season with his outstanding play and his contributions to the success of the MOunt season cannot be understated.

I like the Grant transfer even more than the Cockrell one.  They reshaped the WR in a hurry.

Grant absolutely torched Mount this year, but then again who didnt'? Hopefully the DB transfers are coming as well

mucgrad06

Was thinking the same thing, need a few DBs to transfer in.

"People" must think Mount will be OK at QB with all these WR Transfers coming.

Pat Coleman

If he played in four or fewer regular season games, all of them in the first half of the season, and ended the season injured and unable to play or practice, then he would generally be able to get a medical hardship season of eligibility.

He only has Stats listed for Ferrum, BW and Wilmington Games (1st five games of the season).  Theoretically, he could apply for a medical hardship.

fractured ankle in the Wilma game. healed up by the end of the year, but not sure that he practiced after the injury.  Pretty sure that he was not on the playoff roster.

Sure hope he is allowed and able to come back. Having such a special RB behind/next to a young QB would help settle things nicely. Combine that with all the new toys at WR, the only thing that can hold back the QB development is the play calling  ;D .

I feel like you're talking about Echeverry.  I dont think that there's much hope to bring him back.  Kid had a legendary season for the Raiders, I'd love to have him in '25, but I think that it's time to thank him for the 30 TD's and move on.
