It was reported moments ago that BW is donating their turf at the end of the season to the WHAM-O Corporation for experimental purposes on their "Slip-n-Slide" product line.  WHAM-O executives are looking to develop an "even more slippery surface" and BW offered to oblige.   ;D

LOL, this may qualify as a classic, see HScoach for the ruling!  ;D

Nice spot on the Wooster/ Allegheny Game,.... though it shot me in the foot!  :-\

Might bring a rise in the number of blown knees in 4 year olds :D

See y'all in A-town next week.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Couple of thoughts from the Mount/BW game.

MUC really needs to cut down on penalties.  Someday this might come back to bite them.

The officials at this game needed to realize what is and what is not a pass interference penalty.  Also, when a defensive player takes down an offensive player, that isn't offensive holding.  That wiped out a Mount touchdown.  When the play clock reaches zero, that's delay of game...a team gets 25 seconds, not 29.

Who is running the play clock in the press box at BW?  That was an adventure in its own right.  Sometimes it started, sometimes it didn't, sometimes it started as BW snapped the ball...but it always seemed to start on time when Mount's O was on the field.  Really, what was going on up there?

I've been wanting to bring this up for years and now that it's fresh in my mind, I will.  Is there any more bush league tactic in the OAC than the BW bench making a bunch of noise (a la the Cameron Crazies of Duke) during every third down and big play when the Jackets are on defense?  I guess I'm alright with benches chanting D-Fense(although I'd prefer if they let the fans make the noise), but continuously yelling "OHHHHHHHH" while your opponent is at the line?  Give me a break.

That's our thing, doing that. Why I'm not sure myself, but that's what is widely known in sports as Home Field Advantage. I agree with you on the other parts though, I was confused by some of the penalties and what exactly was going on with the play clock. (Or not even the play clock itself but the general clock)

BTW, does anyone have the penalty numbers for the MUC-BW game?

Been a strange day in college football.  That's why they play the games, right?

Almost had a heart attack watching Notre Dame finally shake down the thunder on UCLA.  Ohio boy Brady Quinn pulls it off in the last seconds to win 20-17.  He's a player.
Okay, you can smite me for talking D1-A.  :-*

That's when the fans make noise, not the team.

Toph,
I think the clock operator came from out of town, maybe it was Bridgewater! ;D
BTW, Congrats to Don Montgomery in today's win vs. Bridgewater, Emory&Henry has started to turn the ship around.

Quotejust tell MUC to be careful...Fisher flies well under the radar.

"Tell Mount that I'm coming."  -Antoine Dunklin, JCU WR, Oct. 2003.  Final score:  Mount Union 34, JCU 16.

Tell MUC to be careful...right.  They've won 8 national titles because they have a tendancy to overlook opponents.
The point is this:  Mount doesn't need your "warning."  They'll be ready like they always are.

Too bad about Cochran.  I always rooted for him (he is a Blue Streak, after all).

I have a story on file from the local paper in Widener's area where the players said basically the same thing heading into the 2000 semifinals. Mount Union 70, Widener 30.

Maybe this is another one of those "tests" raider4505 is always trying to give us.

I am not so confident he'll find it though Pat.
