I have been working on 4th Qtr., FY06, and FY06 as a whole, Flight Safety Mishap/Reportable Events statistics and trends analysis all week, and needed a little diversion.....
Many have mentioned about how tough B-W generally plays Mount Union, so here is some simple average margins of victory since the 1994 B-W win:

Since the last B-W win (12 games):  21.4 point
The "Post-Borchert Era" (9 games):  17.7 points
The 21st Century (6 games):  15.0 points

In Alliance, since 1994 (5 games):  21.2 points
In Alliance, "Post-Borchert" (4 games):  17.8 points
In Alliance, 21st Century (3 games):  17.3 points

At B-W, since 1994 (7 games):  21.6 points
At B-W, "Post-Borchert" (5 games):  17.6 points
At B-W, 21st Century (3 games):  12.7 points

Decent match-ups this week

Cap @ Mount - Raiders look better than last year... Caps defense and wr corps is down versus ly.  Rocky is another year better and Alexander gives him some speed.  Crusaders need to win the turnovers to keep it close.  I joked about it in picks, but with several injured hands, that has to impact the defense for Capital....35 to 16 Mount.

ONU @ BW - Whomever can get the better QB play wins this one...6 to 3.

Wilma @ JC... JC 19 Wilma 7  Easy finishing schedule for Streaks.

Muskies @ O-bein...Otters 9 Muskies 3.  Not expecting much offense in this one... could be an ugly competitive game.

Berg @ Etta...Looking for another good effort from the Berg.  Playing loose for coach.  27-14 Pios.

I agree with D3, I think MU is stronger this year and Cap is not as strong. I would feel much better if Kyle Hausler was healthy.
In order for Cap to win, they must win the turnover margin, have some success running the ball and MU has to shoot themselves in the foot with penalties.  MU has over 600 yards in penalties this year compared to just over 300 for Cap.
Kmic will get his yards, Caps success may hinge on how well Starks can cover Garcon.

Good Luck to both teams.

Given this board is awful quiet considering "The Game" is two days away, let me put this question out there. If B-W were to win out (very big IF, requiring W's over ONU, Bien and Cap) and Cap were to fall to both Mount and B-W, would either Cap or B-W stand a chance of making the playoffs at 8-2? Inquiring minds want to know 8)

impressive!  i guess the only argument bw has is that the margin of victory may be double digits all around, but im willing to bet that at leat 8, possibly all 9 other OAC schools have a bigger margin than bw.  any info that can prove that?

Considering last years scenario with Cap & ONU, I would say BW gets the nod...case would not look good for Cap losing 2 out of their last 3 games.  Would make it interesting, though... lets just hope it doesn't happen!!

Elee,
I am a respected poster. Tell your girl Melody to quit stalking me at Bengals games!jk....I just saw her this past weekend.

2MinO- I'd give you good karma if I knew how but only because you coach with The Mac Childress! Tell him tdubs said hi.

No prediction on the game this weekend except that it's going to be a battle and I wish I could watch it.

Is Meadows playing this weekend?  If not, what is his status the rest of the season?

Is Quirk going to start?

raiderguy

Any tailgates to visit for an out of town Raider fan to visit. I know it is Homecoming so there will be that too. I would love to hook up with fellow Raider and or Cap posters on my visit back to the friendy confines of Mount Union Stadium. Let me know please.

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

I believe Meadows is back this weekend.  From what I heard, he was just out last weekends 'Etta game b/c of a concusion he got against Cap the weekend before.  I am not sure about Quirk, RC could probably elaborate more on that.

This week CAPS o-line will give Rocky all the time he needs. Starks will get the job done on defense.

GO CRUSADERS!!

reality check

I don't honestly know if Quirk will start/play this weekend?!?  I'd venture to guess that if he does start, he'll platoon and if he starts and plays poorly, then it will be a lot like last week where Pankratz gets the rest of the snaps.

I also don't know for certain about Meadows.  He was held out last week for a couple dings, not just the hit to the head.  He wants to play.  I do know that much.

Bogner did a good job last week and he would have had over 100 yards on the ground but didn't get any carries as ONU was throwing to play catch up in the 4th.  Bogner is an above-average backup and will do fine if they elect to sit RJ for another week.

cu parent,

It's good you have confidence in Cap's O-line but have you seen how quick and fast Mount's D is? I hope Rocky takes his Centrum Silver cuz he'll be doing a lot of running.
