Anyone who wants Corso to put on their mascot head hasn't been watching his performance on Gameday.  If you're rooting for the secondary purple team, you better hope he puts on that bird head.

cu parent-

I like that you are enthusiastic about the team, but I thought last year's team (or maybe even the year before that) was the best Capital team talent wise.  Rocky has had weapons in his receiving corps who may have been better than Mount's overall.  If he didn't get them in his first 9 years, I don't see it happening this year...especially not if the weather is as bad as the forecast looks.

theaprof

We don't really think that there is anything untoward in Rocky's tenure at Capital--It's just that it feels like he's been there long enough to have tenure.

And we have been hearing for years how he is going to pick us apart with his brilliant play--maybe he will someday (maybe even tomorrow, but I doubt it)--but so far it ain't happened.

theprof,
Who has been saying that Rocky is going to pick you apart? I've been on this board for years and haven't seen anyone post that. Why is everyone in the OAC so worried about Rocky's tenure? If Rocky didn't play as a freshman, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Mount rarely plays true freshman, and that's why you don't here anyone talk about them. Both are respected programs and let's leave it at that and let the best team win tomorrow.

BWDE97

Back from a 6 week hiatus with one question, can Cap hold Mount to less points than BW did?

Its good to see the competition of the so called "lower teir teams" is getting tougher.

OK tdubs--I'm willing to let it go, but you gotta admit it does seem like Rocky's been around forever. ::)

On a more serious note--for those of you driving up from Capital tomorrow--it is a much easier drive to take I-70 east to I-77 north and then US 62 across from Canton.  I know it looks a bit longer on the map, but I have made the drive down to and through Columbus on a number of occasions.  I-70 and I-77 don't have near the truck traffic of I-71 and they are a far prettier drive.  Besides, there are a couple of nasty radar traps on US 30 (especially through the Dalton area).  Allow yourself around two to two and a half hours (unless you drive like I do and then you can count on two hours or less ::)).

Have a safe trip everyone--watch out for the rain and the high winds in the morning--here's hoping for an injury free, good clean game.

Because the forecast is for rain and cloudy skys for the CAP/MOUNT game I believe that neither quarterback is going to be the deciding factor. The team with best control of the line of scrimmage is going to be the winner. I have to give Mount Union the edge...but I am biased.  Jorris has shown that throwing long into the wind is not his strongest suit. With a wet ball, Rocky will have to show us some touch on his passes to be effective. When I think of Pentello...I dont think of touch passes. That said, I favor Mount Union because they can use their  backs for short passes as well as get the ball to Pierre (long gone) Garcon in space on a short pattern, then let him "use the shoes" for the long run after. If you double Garcon then the Raiders other receivers are gonna hurt ya. If Cap gets blitz crazy, watch Micelli come in and be the extra runner in the backfield with the option to pass. If Mount cant blitz either, then I think they still can hold the line better. I would prefer a nicer day for this contest!

If Cap loses again Pentello is gonna feel like his life story is a remake of GROUNDHOG DAY. If they win its gonna be more like RUDY.

Or Tom Arth's biography
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Actually I live in Wooster, I would highly advise the 71 North, 30 East, 77 North, 62 East Route.  There are speed traps, but even at just 5 over the limit it is still at least a half an hour faster (especially with the route 30 bypass through Wooster.)

I took grad classes at OSU and came home (Alliance) for the weekends,  and after taking about every possible way home, taking route 30 is by far the fastest route.

Have a safe trip and hope that helps.

seventies-
And I just applauded you earlier today...then you had to go ruin everything.  IF Rocky is able to keep his team in the game tomorrow, then it will be Tom Arth-esque.  Arth played Mount tough (especially as a frosh and sophomore).  I'd look for the ground game to be paramount tomorrow, though.  I'm not sure Capital has an answer for Kmic.

Having just traveled both ways in the last month, I will recommend 71 to 30 as well.  Since they have completed the 30 by-pass from Wooster to Orrville, the trip is much faster.

Raiderguy - are you in town now?

section13raiderfan

Well now, according to the 6pm news its gonna be steady rain with winds of 30 mph gusting to 50-55 mph for the game. I vote we play on Sunday instead. This game is too important to be decided by weather. What do we have to lose? The Browns game will be less interesting anyways. Who is with me?

rscl70

From the National Weather Service forecast:

"Saturday: Periods of rain, mainly before noon. High near 42. Breezy, with a west wind between 14 and 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible."
12-0 = 13

This week CAPS o-line will give Rocky all the time he needs.

Barring the unforeseen return of Lewis Howes, I'm not so sure how much time that is
If the O-line is only adequate then wouldn't you want him to run behind an upgraded line next year?  Just a year experience may help some but if the players are only adequate they will not improve that much.

Rocky is coming back again next year?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah I heard he's got three or four more years of eligibility easy.  The NCAA actually researched the situation and found there to be a hole in the space-time continuum directly over Bexley.  Rocky has a few more years for sure and it also helps to explain how those damn Hausler's never seem to leave either.  And don't worry, the Assman era is going to last for a good 10-12 years from what data I have gathered.

All this has prompted Capital's administration to adopt a new slogan:

"CAPITAL; SPEND THE BEST NINE YEARS OF YOUR LIFE EARNING YOUR FOUR YEAR DEGREE."

That reminds me, RC, rumor on the street is Guntor is in like his 12th year of eligibility...transferred from from 2 schools prior to coming to Ada...any truth to this??  I believe I heard from a D-1, to a D-2, now with ONU...I have been meaning to ask since the Cap victory over ONU, but kept forgetting.  All this AARP talk made me think to ask you...any insight??

Wizardman

WEll, I ca already tell you guys the weather is going to be crap for the BW-ONU game. Even IF the rain clears up in Berea (doubtful, simply becuase the rain doesn't let up here), the fied's going to be pretty wet still. I'd think BW would be used to it by now, giving them an advantage on the turf. Not sure how it will affect ONU.

skunks_sidekick

Latest weather report looks like it will be much better (relatively speaking) than was predicted yesterday.  Possibly not that much rain at game time, but the wind will be a factor.  In other words, typical late October/November weather in NEO.

Word is Pentello is feeling strong due to CAP allowing him to eat breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, which we all know is the geriatric sets fortress of power.  He might have the game of his life now.   ;D
