When does "being fair" and "refs" EVER really go in any sentence ???

I will put up with the holding calls on the wide receivers only because our WO block downfield better than any I have seen.  And that especially includes Garcon.  He is a blocking madman, poser or no poser.

Let's face some facts on this board.  When someone comes into this forum and bashes Mount, it is SOLELY based on the fact that they are tired of seeing their team get beat time after time after time by Mount.  Mind you, I am not talking about the regular non-Mount posters on this board, but more so the newer drive by "Mount is classless...blah..blah..blah."  It's comical, and just a tad juvenile.

I am the poster that said I want Mount to have a crack at St. John's.  Their team is always well-coached, their fan base is obnoxious, holier-than-thou, but a lot of fun, and I feel over the last 10+ years our two programs have been the class of D-III when it comes to high level,  consistent performance.

I had a chance to watch some of the BW-Otter game yesterday and was impressed by BW.  I remember watching them last year and shocked at how bad they looked.  This year the D is obviously pretty good, but the QB and the WR's look like the BW of old.  It will be nice to have Kyle Hausler back this week.

The five day forecast in Columbus is 50's and 60's this week.  Hopefully the weather will be about the same in Berea on Sat.

Looks to be a great game on Sat.

I can not believe there has not been any mention of the "magic carpet" by BW fans... its only monday but I am getting excited for this game

Magic Carpet = Old Carpet from my back porch, laid on cement parking lot with sand scattered all over it.
Brown & Yellow = Color of my son's puke from this past weekend that kept me up all Friday night.

Capital wins in a blowout, as long as it isn't too windy for Rocky to pass...

From the totally mindless section...

Does anyone think that it's odd for Mount's starting defense to wear numerical jersey #s no larger than 48?  I cannot remember seeing any defense that did not have someone with a jersey # in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's etc.

Maybe it's a psychological ploy?  Boy, I have nothing to do today.

#22 needs a bigger number, doesn't look right (not that I can say anyting about my own physique :)):

Not to be disrepectful to Mr. McCullough but he's probably not worn #22 since Pony League

CUParent,

Allow me to tell you a couple of stories about "class."

Returning home from the Stagg Bowl one year my wife and I stopped in a Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Blacksburg, Va. for breakfast.  We got about 5 feet inside the door when a man approached us.  "I see you're Mount Union fans," he said.  He then went on to identify himself as an employee of the Salem Civic Center who was working in the stadium after the football game.  He said when they went into the other team's locker room it looked like a tornado had been through.  But when they entered Mount Union's locker room they did not even have to clean it.  He wanted to tell us how impressed they were by the behavior of the team, and the quality of the young men and the program.

On another occasion we decided to wrap a weekend in Marietta around the Mount - Marietta game.  We checked into a motel on Friday evening, and about an hour later we were surprised to see Mount's football team checking into the same motel.

The next morning as we were checking out a woman asked us if we knew whose football team that was in the motel last night.  I thought "here we go, she's upset about something." When I told her whose team it was she said' "Mount Union?  I'm calling that school next week.  Those young men were such gentlemen, I want my son to go there."

You don't have to worry about Mount representing the conference with "class."  They always have, and always will.  What you really need to consider is how much "class" your remarks on this site have shown.

Well I just got past the first comment and now noticed this one... "SPORTSMANSHIP- something the coaches are not teaching."

Really, and you would know this how? I'm going to stop calling you sir.  I don't call people that make idiotic comments sir.
I think in general the observation about not teaching sportsmanship is accurate not just for MUC but a lot of places.  he made an observation based on what he saw.  Posing and celebrating is far too common.  I think MUC should lead the pack and lead other programs not by being about the same as.

Mount Union football has at least as much class as any program in D3.

Look at the brightside of this discussion.  At least CUparenrt didn't rip MUC with the old "you'll work for us someday" arguement like the NCAC folks always did after getting drilled.

I'll at least give him credit for being original in his whining.  Inaccurate, but original.

What also must make it harder for CUparent to accept is that the Capital team of all-time with their best player ever still can't beat MUC. ;D
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

OU#25, it is a little odd Mount's D-Line has smaller than normal jersey numbers, maybe it's a carryover for them from their highschool days ie. lucky number etc. and as for kirasdad, as long as that front four keeps devestating their opponents run attack who are we to comment on their looks or physique.  Up until this point Mount's competition has had to go in the air for limited success because there isn't anything happening on the ground with the D-line and Linebacker play.  Careful not to get to personal pointing anybody out.  Let's play football

I would like to add that Nick Bucci of Cap is very simliar to the way Ryan Lewis played for BW... Bucci like lew has the body of a linebacker and attacks the o-tackle with speed and quickness... Bucci will more than likely get over looked, but should recieve some credit such as all conference if not POY.. My POY goes to Stickley for year and year out being tough to face..

I hate to admit it but I think the steaming pile is a better team than Capital at least right now and will go further in the playoffs so I (damn can't beleive I am going to say this) hope they win and get in.
