Just got home from the Youth Football Banquet and a bunch of us washed up coaches figured that if the Hiram job was open and we could schedule Hiedelberg and the new Lake Erie College team, then throw in a bunch of trick plays maybe we could sneak up on Earlham, Oberlin and Denison. We'd probably be NCAC Coach of the Year.
It's no dumber idea than thinking your going to get any serious talent to come live four years in Hiram
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Mr. Ypsi

Wooster Booster and I have solved Hiram's problem over on the NCAC board.

Guaranteed .500 seasons with NO upgrades necessary! ;D

seventiesraider:
I realize it is an extremely tough situation at Hiram (and perhaps the 'Berg) right now.  However, many people said that about Olivet for years and look what they've done recently.  Some of your other Ohio schools have vastly improved (you guys know which ones so I won't list them all) so it is not impossible for Hiram and the 'Berg to do the same.  Hard work yes, impossible no.  Also, too bad you guys might not have the time, opportunity to do it, but wouldn't that indeed be great to put together a coaching staff of your liking (veteran coaches/former league players, etc.) - it would be "a blast" no doubt. ;D

Condolences to the BW faithful.

:'(
He was a guy I went to both high school and college with, so this definitely hit me hard. A great guy who could make anyone feel better. It really sucks that he was taken from us so soon. I still never felt like I got to know him enough...

I can hear the Pro-Rocky rants now.....  greatest NCAC QB ever......greatest NCAC QB ever......greatest NCAC QB ever......greatest NCAC QB ever......

Though in that crappy conference, they'd be right.

Craig I don't appreciate you not accurately quoting or paraphrasing what I had to say.  The biggest problem I have with this board is anyone can come in here and say whatever they want without any regard to facts or the truth and it is the major reason I haven't been around nearly as much this year.

To be accurate what I said was for a senior he did not show good decision making and didn't seem to know when to give up on a play rather than throw a ball that shouldn't be thrown.  I said I probably wouldn't rank him in the top five QB's I've seen in the OAC this year and that would be accurate, because in my opinion, Mount Union has two, and Baldwin-Wallace, Capital, John Carroll and Otterbein each have a guy I liked better.

I never used the word terrible to reference him and that would be inaccurate.  I did list a couple of his strengths as I saw them but you decided not to mention those.  I don't appreciate the inaccuracy of your post.

Anyone know when the All-OAC selections are announced?

i dont know if this has been mentioned before, but has anyone noticed that everytime the Around the Region link gets put up, the one for our region is always a week behind?  why is it that our guy is always behind on this stuff?  when he does do the article, its always a solid article i just wish it was up there with all the other new ones that get posted...

Don't compare what Capital did and what Marietta did. Against Capital Mount Union played its first team much longer and never got to some third guys.  Yesterday a lot of starters were done at halftime and the rest were done midway through the third quarter.  There were guys getting their first carry of the year yesterday."

For the sake of accuracy, facts and discussion...I'd like to compare the Captial & Marietta games.  Of course, realizing that the domination of Mount Union has left the rest of the teams scrambling for tiny morsels to try and keep the season interesting.

Here are some:

end of 1st qtr 17-0 vs Cap, 14-10 vs Etta.
half-time  24-6 & 31-10
final 38-12 & 45-17
Total O  530 yards vs Cap, 591 vs Etta.
Toal O Cap 185, Etta 235 (includes 77 yds (6 rushing) in 4th vs backups)
Rushing Cap -31, Etta 62

The only starters I saw done at half-time were ones banged up
Jorris was passing in the 4th qtr vs Pios and 3rd qtr vs Cap. Wray was running in the 4th q in both games(I like Wray better than Morring, love the depth though)
Only 1st time ball carrier vs Etta was Bruney....rumor is he was a starter before being injured
Hard to believe last year's first team All-OAC rb gets mop-up duty in both games...tough situation, but Robinson seems to have handled it with class.

Last year All-Oac was out around the 20th of Nov

Just playing with some numbers, but if you combine Jorris and Micheli's stats, it is pretty impressive:

GP    Effic       Att   Com   Int   Pct       Yds     TD   Lng   Avg/G
Jorris     10   178.08   153   94     4   61.4%   1434   20   82   143.4
Micheli   10   180.17    82    62     0   75.6%    785    6    51   78.5

Total     10   179.04   235  156     4   66.4%   2219   26   82   221.9

He is not always a week behind, he just releases later in the week.  Usually on Thursday or Friday.

I'm hoping someone might have an answer for me as there are so many on this board with so much time on their hands (usually myself included).  I have scoured ncaasports.com's stats sections without luck and I am looking for a list/database that I know I came across a few weeks ago.  Somewhere in internet land there's a list of all-time career leaders in many defensice statistical categories for all divisions.  I can't seem to find this list/record book.  All I have located are the DII/DIII records and the DI records.  These list only the all time leader in each category and not a list of the top ten or so.

If anyone can help me locate that list or website, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.

I've always noticed that we're last by several days but have been hesitant to mention anything in fear of being smited from above.  D3Football.com is basically an online magazine...and therefore you would think they would put deadlines in place for their contributors...but Pat may be more lenient because they are probably not being compensated for their fine efforts.

RC,

I found the NCAA record book on line through their main website. It was still divided into divisions as I scaned through it but it did have lists of more than one player in the statistical catgories. Hopefully that is what you are looking for.
